My mom house was like that ,and she got the men to work on it and doing great now...clean away the mud certain feet ,then render the outside wall, then concrete the gutter and make space for water and remember SOCKS, PORTLAND IS A WET PARISH AND RAIN IS THERE REQULAR...SO DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO...
Blessings Socks, you need all hands on deck to help you brother and make sure you get that walkway cemented and clean your walls down really good. You don't want to be inhaling all that toxic. Be bless and stay strong brother 🙏🏿🙏🏿
Wow I'm so sorry for what's happening to your lovely house, my friend and you're doing a great job getting all that mud away. I pray that everything will be okay 🙏💙💯
Hi Socks….there is a lot of love for you in these comments. Please take heed to all the advice. Soak in all the love. Be good, get what has to be done completed. Once a homeowner there is always something. ❤ be blessed brother Socks.
Once you get the dirt away from the wall, you have to make it deeper in the middle, somewhat like a creek in the middle, because the water will still come through the wall
That's what I was wondering, why would you build a trench next to house? You gotta have some super extended awnings to keep water from rolling down next to house.
Dig down a foot pass the foundation fill with gravel and slope toward road. Add retaining wall to the side as your brother has one in the back. You never put soil against a house the stone is porous.
Good job socks, looks like mold and mildew. Its dangerous for your lungs. Socks your going to have to spray your walls with bleach and cleaning it , its mold. Please wear a mask. Socks your going to have to hire help to remove all the dirt from around your entire house. You will also need to put up a retaining wall and make the bottom of the ground concrete. It will take a little money but not too much. Your brother also will have to do the same after he builds. You should let him know. Mold is no joke. You need to buy more blocks of collect stones. Blessings.
brother in life if people could just positive criticism it would be great ... we are you guys supporters so somtimes we mention somthing it's not that we talk too much , we want to see the best for you guys so that's why we give ideas somtimes,, I told you guys before you put the dirt on the wall make sure to steal finish the wall first because you will get moisture inside if you don't. but I hope things work out well for you brother🙏🙏🙏make sure to go a little below floor level too socks
Socks unfortunately when I saw how your brother dug so close to your house and all that dirt I said your house will have problems.Too close to your house, just my observation. Now you gotta deal with that by yourself.
Owning a house is never ending work always something to do but its a lovely house you built would be lovely to build a outside dining area with a table and a bench so you can entertain in style your Dad is good at building things 🤩He is extremely handy
Socks, The house should have been built on a foundation. However, you need to put up a retaining wall, cement that path that you are digging, seal, and paint the outside. That will prevent moisture and mold from setting inside. ---------Narlean
Socks, you are getting lots of good advice. Big up the contributing subscribers 👍🏾🇯🇲🇯🇲. I pray the finish product will keep your home safe from water damage
Cook some food & get few of your friends to help you, back in the day my father & his friends would their one another to do difficult work they call it morning sport
If you can make a rock garden around the perimeter of the home, it will help with the water drainage. That's what the engineer and landscaper recommended when the water was surrounding my home. I haven't had an issue since.
What you need to socks try and get the wall flash out at least get it rough Cas and then make a gutter to carry the water away from the house , don't want to see anything happen to your place fam
Well done removing the soil from the wall. Let the wall dry, then get it rendered, and once that is dried properly, get some tar and boil it hot and use a mop and mop it on to the wall just high enough to where the soil used to be.Then let it dry then do one more layer with the tar. This will make it waterproof. This is the technique we use in America for doing basements. Big up and great job.
Your doing a great job socks ! It's not easy maintaining a house but it has to be done hope everything goes well. You have move quick before it gets worse 🙏
Hey silent viewer here but I'm concern about what's on the wall it looks like mold , research it and be careful how u touching it u need more light and air in the room also to prevent more mold , it's a good start tho from the outside in be bless 😊
I am appreciative of the effort you have made in your house .However, you need experts advise on applying water proofing solutions to prevent leaks, mildewed and moulds . Not sure on products availability in Jamaica, but should you visit an hardware store , they’ll provide the most common solution for you problem . You will need to
Socks, you need to dig out the whole side and then build a retaining wall between the house and the space. You could also build stairs in the space , which would also help to channel the water off the house! Blessings.
Ooo my dear Socks, I looks like a lot of back breaking work you have to put in. I know you will not give up until you are convinced it is done, I was wondering why you don't concrete the side as a drained, will that help in any way? But seriously you are doing an amazing job.
