Brought back some extremely dirty .223 Brass from the Range. It looked like it had been there for quite a while, and had been laying in the mud. There was mud and sand caked down inside each piece of brass. It was a nasty cleanup. Just decapping them was a pain. I wasn't very confident that we would end up with any brass that I would feel good about using, but I was very surprised at what we ended up with after running the brass through several iterations in the Sonic Cleaner, and then tumbling for about 3 hours.

I've got over 3k rounds of 223 brass and some of it is as dirty as yours was. I'm planning to get a wet tumbler to clean it. Can't wait to get my reloading stuff squared away! BTW, I got your package Saturday. I am really slammed this week but as soon as I can I'm gonna do an unboxing vid. Thanks again and cool video!

CountryBoyPrepper I am actually toying with the idea of getting a Wet Tumbler as well. I was looking at the Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Tumbler. Seems like a pretty nice one --- sturdy, and you can do quite a bit of brass in one shot!

Great video Sir. Always entertaining watching things go from dirty and old to new and shiny. I really like that tumbler basket for cleaning the tumbler debris out. Makes me look forward to making my own ammo hopefully soon someday. Thank you for sharing.

don't know much about the sonic cleaner but just a question or two,, why did you not first put it into the tumbler then into the sonic, would the not work better when it is some what clean from the tumbler by removing the mud , then into the sonic, would it not clean better from the sonic then the tumbler thanks.

+akaeldin Sonic cleaner helps to do 2 things -- but I did rinse the brass pretty good before they went into the Sonic Cleaner. The Sonic Cleaner helped to (1) dislodge the remaining mud, and gunk from inside the casings, and (2) also does a better job on the Primer Pockets than the Tumbler. By pulling the remaining mud and gunk out in the Sonic Cleaner -- I don't end up introducing all that mud and gunk into the Media in my Tumbler -- which extends the life and usability of my media. The Tumbler (along with the Brass Polish that is added to the media) is more of a Final Cleaning/Polishing of the casings. Just my humble opinion - but I would definitely rather put the dirty brass into the Sonic Cleaner for a few iterations before moving the casings to the Tumbler.
