Cleaning Mass Air Flow Sensor On a 2008 Saab 9-3 2.0t 

cranked torx keys are easily availiable, just like Allen Keys (Hex), so you wouldn't need to remove anything else.

It's important to use a cleaner that is pure solvent that leaves no residue. WD40 make a contact cleaner that fits the bill. You could even use brake cleaner. Always check the manufacturers website to make sure the cleaner leaves NO RESIDUE. Quite correct - NEVER touch the hot wire. It is okay to dry with canned air though, but keep the nozzle a few inches away.

All u had to do was unscrew the 2 little screws holding the sensor in place. And u undo the wire. No need to take anything else apart; hose clamp or anything else.

Did you have to disconnect the battery power when you did that? Also can you put a video up cleaning the throttle body? Awesome video by the way.

Hi! Did your car gave you any check engine codes and this is why you are cleaning the map sensor? If so do you remember what codes and what symptoms did your car experience?

Hopefully this will fix my rough idle issues and I won't need new intake valves

Cold air intake? You mean Hot Air Intake! The stock air filter draws air from the grill. Your $200 filter draws air from the same grill area plus bleed over hot air from the engine compartment. Run some back-to-back tests with the stock verses the BSR with a long thermoprobe placed right after the mass airflow. Check; idle, full throttle acceleration and cruise. If you had a scanner (Tech II anyone?) you could see the temp that the computer sees right at the mass airflow. I have yet to see a "Cold Air Intake" that actually make the air colder. Most make the air much hotter. Also, check the g/sec airflow on that scanner, stock vs. BSR or any pleated/gauze/oiled (K&N) type filter. Prepare to be disappointed. How much money you spend, how good their advertising (BS) is or seat-of-the-pants evaluation does not matter. Numbers in a fair , clear, repeatable comparison is all that matters. Sorry to be a buzz kill but us old hot rodders have already been there, done that.

You need to do some more homework You don't know the difference between a Mass Air Flow sensor and a MAP sensor. Even the can had a picture on it for anybody that didn't know the difference between the 2. That is NOT a mass air flow sensor you've dealt with in this video..... Its a Map sensor!
