Finally, after a great night spent camping on the sand (This is still from the Fall 2023 Washington State road trip), this is the second beach I came to... Morro Bay, Ca.
I'm not usually a morning person, and the fact that I had woken up at the crack of dawn and already thoroughly cleaned a random beach we had come across just north of this location.
I was tired and hungry, but hopeful. As usual.
Morro Bay, (for anyone else interested in the historical significance of the beaches they detect), is known as the location of the first landing of Filipino Americans on the North American mainland. Pretty cool place to see, if you haven't been before.
The massive rock formation jutting out from the beachfront is waaaayyy bigger in person. More of a mountain really. Absolutely stunning though.
The beach was pretty dry at first, and had it's fair share of trash. Good thing I stay hopeful though, because we eventually pulled a hefty old gold ring out of that sand along with some other interesting jewelry and random bits of recyclables.
