its so fresh to see how real you are about having deals with fast fashion brands. and just a reminder that sustainability is a SUCH a general term and it encompasses the want to solve social justice issues such as poverty and food insecurity. so no judgement to anyone who cant afford to shop 'sustainably' bc there is definitely more than one way to be sustainable :))
You are absolutely right!! There are SO many layers that go into sustainability. It was honestly hard to make this decision because there’s so much you can’t run from and I feel I can’t do a well enough job. But taking a small step forward is better than nothing :) I’m certainly going to make my fair share of mistakes, but my main goal is to just talk about this issue!
girlll, i loved this! all of your videos really feel like i'm hanging out with a friend, it's so entertaining. Also i also would be overwhelmed in that clothing swap, i understand you
You could do a Vinted (second hand online platform) shopping spree the next time you want to try a new aestethic or such for YT if you have access to it? At least for me I tend towards wanting something different seasonally or for an event but struggle to avoid fast fashion shops...so I check Vinted first before going, and then if Im bored at the end of the season I gift it to a second hand shop in my city :) I do have to say I am lucky to live in Europe so we have these vintage boutiques in all the city centers that you can access by foot from the nearest train stations😅
Made me look up local clothing swap events. either I will hold on to the items until next year or find a donation box. The benefit of holding is that most swap events require you to come with clothes to enter...
Okay but the thing is a lot of people don’t know that crochet can’t be done by a machine which means people HAVE to had made it WHICH MEANS the people who made it are probably severely underpaid people in sweat shops. If you buy crochet make sure it’s second hand or you buy it from the crochet that made it :)
Im howling, Tiff is saved as 'Dipshit' on your phone 🤣 Loved this vlog btw! The clothing swap community seem super sweet and friendly and I love seeing things like this! Thanks for creating another great vlog again
"I'm gonna wear this for like the next four falls!".... girl, I got underwear older than you!!! Lol And not in a gross way. They are the fancy ones that I wear for special occasions and I take very good care of them. Try buying things for a LIFETIME. I have purses that my daughter inherit. I have a biker jacket that was my father's and is older than me. Buy quality classics that will last a lifetime. That is sustainability.
