It's interesting that you put baking soda and baking powder in spice jars... I would never have thought to decant those. I think I have some Mason jars on hand that would work. 🙂

Great job Brittany! I am a spice lover too! And I had the same problem - decanting into matching jars is a pain, even with a funnel! I discovered some tricks that help. I opt to buy the same brand of organic spices that come in square glass jars with silver lids. Then I got some repositionable chalkboard labels, cut them into strips the width of the bottle and about 3/8" tall. I place the labels on the top edge of the blank side of the jars. Then they all look uniform on the shelf. I can see the labels clearly over the top of the jars on the shelf below. And when a jar is empty, it's so easy to just peel off the label and place it on the new jar. This way I also have the expiration date on the jar. Hopefully that makes sense 😊Way to go and thanks for sharing!💞🥰

You did an amazing job Brittany! Loved this video! Those jars with the spoons are adorable! I decant my spices on the regular and I do make a mess haha! Most of my spice jars are the wide mouthed jars which makes it a lot easier! I also have a lot of spices and we cook with a lot of spices! We go through them so fast that I buy as many as I can at Costco! Thanks for sharing!😊💞

I have issues remembering to decant also. But I don’t do it with my spices anyway. I do like to buy all the same size jars tho. I’m not a very good cook so I don’t need that many spices haha

Hi Brittany! I love those jars with the spoons. I just got some similar ones a few weeks ago but they didn't have the spoon but now I want to go ahead and change those out for that. 😅 Refilling the jars takes up alot of time for sure but what I do is buy the big tubs and scoop them out, saves so much more time. ❤

I really like those new glass jars. I bought some glass jars with bamboo tops a few years ago but really they are too small. I have to refill them too often. You spice cabinet looks great. 💜👍🦋

I typically just use my hand as a funnel when I do spices. I typically fill out of bags with the corners cut though rather than other jars.

I have a serious but probably dumb question. But what exactly is the point of putting the spices into another jar when there is still half the spice in the original jar? Doesn't that take up more space becasue now you have 2 jars? Then also you no longer have the expiration date on the jars that you throw away the original jar. I'm sure there's a point to it and I'm probably missing it. 🤦🏼‍♀️ 😅 I'm a little slow sometimes. It does look nice, though.

@tackleitwithbritt that makes perfect sense. Aesthetics is very important. I have a tonnnn of spices like you, and I wish I had the extra room for pretty jars. I just keep them in their original packaging but it does look much nicer with the labels. Do you also write the expiration date on the labels as well?

Love those jars! My spices are still very mismatched, but have drastically been reduced and am aiming for all glass at the least. If things go well every couple weeks I have been going through and filling spices out of my bulk bags and boiling water filters and refilling soap dispensers. As a sidenote, keep an eye on how you feel when you use that table salt. That can do a number on histamine levels and dysautonomia issues. We do well with (and like the taste of) pink himalayan here. I know some people that prefer regular greyish sea salt though.

What?! I've never heard of table salt causing problems like that. Is it because of iodine? I'm told I need that because of my thyroid disease. I also have oral allergy syndrome but it's super mild compared to what you go through with those other issues. I'm sure that cutting out gluten would help with a lot of my problems too but it's so hard!
