You call that a dirty grill? Looks like it’s cleaned every other cook. A true dirty grill has a grease fire 75% of the time. Makes food cook twice as fast
What’s great with this Napoleon grill is that even after 3 years, the outside looks absolutely brand new. Of course the dirty is suppose to be inside but even like that, the outside really looks great do to what looks like stainless steel high quality casing.
I buy everything based on reviews. Some said this was hard to put together ru-vid.comUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt some guy said 2 hours and 2 beers later. I didn't drink beer like I was going to. I didn't feel like going to the store. I'm assuming I would have had at least 3. I took my time. Stepped outside for a cigarette break a couple times but all in all it was about a 3 hour project for me but it wasn't like it was difficult or anything . Only pictures but everything is pretty organized and labeled although I didn't see any #s on the actual pieces like it shows in the diagrams. Only the screws were labeled. On the cardboard part of the packaging on the back side. I put it together in my living room too. It wasn't supposed to rain today but it's Michigan and I couldn't wait so I put it together in my living room. Without beer but beer would definitely have made it more fun that's for sure. I'm giving this a 5 for easy assembly. I'll update after it stops raining when I can take it out of my living room and cook some food on it. Hope this helps at least for people who think they can't put this together because I did and you can too . And there are extra screws. I got nervous and immediately came here to see if others had the same experience and they have. You're not doing it wrong. There will be extra screws. Be patient. Don't rush it. Drink beer. Happy assembling
This motivated me to go scrub my husbands grill so it’s nice and clean when he gets back from his work trip and we can grill and enjoy the finally nice weather, thank you!
Oh God!! He cleaned all the rancid, burnt grease that fresh food is being tainted by in the BBQ!!!! Use the chemicals to clean the grill so that the flame is not burning carbonised gunk and giving off tastes. 😡
While this is a way to get it done there are less harsh ways to go about it. An corrosive cleaner is not required, a better bet would be something like simple green which uses enzymes to break down the fats and oils which glue the gunk to the metal. Additionally if you want to get the best mileage out of the exterior of any stainless grill the best thing to do is to clean the exterior with Bar Keepers Friend as soon as you get it and then go over it again once every few years. This removes all the industrial fallout (steel particles from the press and grinding operations) which gets stuck in the passive layer of the stainless and then passivates those gaps from where the offending material is removed. The stuff costs less than $3 in the US so there is no excuse to avoid it. Remember salt tears through stainless via chloride pitting (think about the sauces and marinades you drip), if you have spots at the end of the season that look like surface rust, you can nip the issue fast by just touching up that area with Bar Keepers Friend. Another major point, not all stainless grills are made like the Napoleon, if you have sections which are made of enamel coated steel DO NOT use a putty knife to scrape. If you scrape into the enamel layer you will open a path of oxidation which undermine the nearby enameled areas. You can use a plastic tape knife if you feel like scraping. Happy Grilling.
Instead of spraying chemicals on your grills when in the pladtic tub, fill it with water and some simple dishwasher detergent. Leave it to soak for at least 2 days. More is better. Everything then just wipes off with a damp cloth. Any stubborn spots use something course. I’ve always done this. Its so easy.
I have the same bbq. I clean mine twice a year. Spring-and then fall. One thing to do is as soon as done cleaning fire it up and let run for 20 mins so all the tubes dry out and you burn off any residual odours.
I would never recommend spraying grill with water. That will cause rust eventually. Only thing you need to do is turn on high for 15-20 min to char any remaining food and grease and scrap off. The only deep clean that’s necessary is to shop vac out the loose ash other than grease tray/pan maintenance. Remember it’s a grill you can spend all this time doing a deep clean and the first cook after will result in grease splatter and ash getting everywhere again. If you want the outside to look good that’s a different story. If you want the inside to look pristine, don’t use it, haha.
try a small electric pressure washer and Dawn detergent . Also install a cookie sheet and put a little water in it while cooking . It increases moisture while acting as a grease trap ( monitor the level )during cooking.
Twice a year I just use a few things: Mild degreaser in a bottle, roll of paper towels, gloves, and a bucket. Wipe down the surface with paper towels, remove all parts, spray those with degreaser let it sit, spray the inside with degreaser and use paper towels to clean, or if really bad use a brush. Put all back together and do a final wipe down then then the grill on low for 10 minutes let the remaining chemicals burn off all done. Not a perfect cleaning but good enough to get rid of flares for a good amount of time
Does Napoleon allow to directly wash inside with hose? If so it will be very easy for me but i was afraid to put direct water in it. Is it recommended by Napoleon?
The HG oven/grill/BBQ cleaner is fantastic. Been using it for a while, but you really must wear gloves as it's a strong alkali (not acid) and can cause burns.
I’m using it for years now. Was really carefull at first. Got it on my hands quite a few times now, still nothing luckily. Have to knock it off though 😂
@@1230mkelly I don’t put anything on them when they go in the oven. When they come out I just rinse them off in the sink if they have any white residue left on them.
I just learned that after grilling and taking food off you must turn grill on high for 10 minutes and burn off all residue. Otherwise you will get deterioration of your grill surfaces. It’s called the after burn. Ask at a grilling specialty store for more details on this.
I clean Airbnbs and most of the grills have gas line covers that are actively rusting out and the metal attachments snap in half or crumble apart in your hand just trying to take them out. It took three months before I realized I was intended to try to clean them at all
Pitmaster X ,I love your channel! I love your cooking tips and the amazing food you cook ! best I love your accent ! You are a nice guy and I am a nice guy. I choose to be gracious instead of rude .But I saw you spraying degreaser , oven cleaner ,don't get this on your hands stuff !! I have to say wo Hoss !! I understand cleaning the bottom of the grill were the tank goes and other gibbles that fall into the bottom when do a cook. I would never put degreaser, soap not to mention all the water . We are talking about an area where you cook food .I understand that your shouldn't be full of crud and gunk and grill grates that look you sharpened you lawnmower blade on it . I have a weber Genius II ,side burner , searing burner and three other burners. A $1400.00 grill. I have had for 3 years. It is amazing .I keep it covered and keep the outside like new. However as far as the area where I cook ,the seasoned , part like a cast iron skillet would I ever use any kind of detergent, soap that will leave a soapy residue or chemical hangover and ruin whatever I cook. This a your oven ,your grill, your smoker ,not the tires on your automobile. I will go and scape my grill down and pull out the grease tray and wipe it down using only water and paper towel.
Harbor freight steamer, Big bottle of Concentrated degreaser, Hot water with degreaser on the stove in a big roasting pan to boil those grill grates..light scrubbing with steel wool.. everything back to fresh and clean again..
spraying the fire components like the holes where the fire comes out specially with water will decrease the life of your grill as rust will form on there , and rust + fire really beats those things up
The trigger words, the suspenseful sound fx. 😂 If this is the dirtiest outdoor grill you have ever seen...I genuinely don't know what to say. I've seen waaaaaay worse than this on the stoves and ovens in some people's houses.
What has happened to yours that you change them so often? I also use mine really often I have this same Napoleon grill it's amazing. Had a charbroil before. Rust ate that one up completely
Dat doe je goed Roel👍 die BBQ ziet er weer uit om door een ringetje te halen 👍👍 Mocht je je binnenkort vervelen dan ben je van harte welkom om bij mij ook te komen poetsen 😊😁
Using a hose to rinse out the grill just screams "let's enable rusting!" I once had a stainless steel grill. The exterior was stainless steel, but its death was because internal parts rusted. Looked great on the street when I discarded it, but it was useless.
That's a cheaper grill. Many high end grills will be entirely stainless steel and resistant to rusting. After thorough rinsing, just run the grill on high for a while. It'll be completely dry.
when you have finished, would you come to my place and clean it too? 😆😅😂 It doesn't rain in the Algarve. Well, it rains only about 10 days per year; 330 sunshine days, 330 grill days and we grill at least 200 days per year. So imagine how our grill looks like after little cleaning 😮💨😭😱 and you get cheap direct flights
Great review and show. I have the smaller Napoeon Rogue, it is great for a bachelor. It is due for a deep clean and it's been such a sh"") summer. I've had no time time to clean yet, bbq!. Thanks for the video, very funny and full of great info.
@newtonbrook I think that's the problem, I move it now and then and it ends up uneven. Hopefully I'll have a new pergola built soon then I'll be able to leave it in one spot all the time.
02:55 when you are working with corrosive cleaners, don't forget the right eye protection. For corrosive liquids, you should use something from a know company like: Uvex Ultravision or Uvex ultrasonic goggles. Industrial cleaning chemicals are very aggresive, you can easily lose your eye sight, if you get a splash into your eye. As seen at 04:00, if you use a brush to clean the grill, splashes and drops are unavoidable, it's hard to watch. Protection for your skin is important too, but your eyes are especially endangered !
I heat mine up a little and then power wash it. Takes me 15 minutes and leaves it looking new every time, no need for all those chemicals and a thousand steps. Been doing that for 15+ years with no problem and costs me $0.
