I love Emma's father. He cracks me up. I also think that even though Emma seems annoying in her treatment of others - the way she treats her Dad shows her true character - below all the immaturity!

Emma is one of my favorite heroines because she's so real - she's not cookie cutter perfect so that makes her really relatable.

Loved so many of these books! The mysterious Benedict society is so fun. I think the adaptation is done pretty well too.

I have checked out a lot of "kids"/ young adult revolutionary era books from the library. I think I need to start with those "simple" books before I move to heavier ones 😂😂

Love Amid the Ashes by Mesu Andrews is a fantastic biblical fiction, and so is the Emissary series by Angela Hunt

I love Little Lord Fauntleroy so much! I was a big Nancy Drew reader. I still love to reread them, but man I didn’t remember how rude George was to Bess about her weight.

LLF was such a sweet and fun character for sure. Yay for Nancy Drew lovers! Oh no, I haven't gotten to the books where George and Bess are included yet. I don't remember that either. Oh gosh. Right now, it's still Nancy and Helen. : )

The Hidden Staircase was always one of my favorites. It's just the right amount of creepy. I always loved the scenes when they dress up in the old costumes!
