Most Sundays in the Low Season here in Kolanta (Thailand), the CLEANUP 4 RICE group takes care of cleaning beaches and support the local community by providing rice bags to the participating families.
Don't forget that a tiny little participation is always better than no participation at all. We all know that we need LARGE scale solutions, that the problem of trash and plastics on beaches is massive, but if all of us make it a habit, we'll influence others to participate at their own level.
