wanted to understand. If 2 financial institutions want to send message to each other & they are using dr own platform (other than SWIFT) for clearing & settlement messages. If they use the Message ID submitted by SWIFT to ISO like pacs.008 then do they pay something to SWIFT to use Message ID or its free..

Hi Jean - I have a question. In SEPA Inst payment, if Debtor Bank is direct participant of RT1 and Creditor Bank is Direct participant of TIPS then how clearing and settlement works? Or it's not a valid scenario?

Both banks involved in the instant payment must be participant to the same CSM. So either they are both participants of TIPS or they are both participants of RT1. The CSM interconnects the two banks and that is what makes the payment possible.
