Of prime importance to a new homestead is an area dedicated to the cultivation of vegetables or crops, and therefore, an area free of trees or brush. Newly developing homestead’s or small farms don’t always have this luxury. Are there quick, easy, and inexpensive ways to go from dense forest growth to cleared land capable of yielding food or crops? In this Farm Hand’s Companion Farm Bulletin #13, Pa Mac demonstrates some simple ways for clearing land intended for crop production or gardening using hogs, hard work, and some handy hints.
