My regular tap water TDS meter score: 229. With this filter, 170. Reverse osmosis water, 3. I understand that this filter still leaves some of the non toxic minerals in the water, but I don’t think it’s good enough. What did you get when you compare it with your regular tap water? Thanks.
Hey there, so measuring TDS isnt necessarily the best way to determine if a filter is performing correctly (aside from RO systems). As you yourself mentioned, in this case this filter retains healthy minerals (such as calcium and magnesium). These healthy minerals will cause the TDS reading to be higher, since TDS is a measurement of the total dissolved solids in the water (not just the bad stuff, but the good stuff too) Therefore if you are only looking at TDS reduction, it might appear that this filter isn't performing well when in reality it actually is doing what it's supposed to. If you want to get a true measurement of the performance and contaminant reduction of the filter, I suggest you do a before/after water test and compare the results. Hope this helps!
@@waterfilterguru As a long time operator of industrial ultrapure water plants, I concur with you. TDS doesn't tell the story for a filter system. I was always taught that very low TDS water from an RO and Anion/Cation resin beds is not good for you because it leaches minerals out of your system. Also according to the sample data I looked up this is probably the best under the sink on the market.

We've not yet tested that one, so don't have any firsthand assessment or data for you at this point unfortunately. Hopefully working on an under-sink filters project soon, I'll see about including that one!
If it is connected to the cold water line... only the cold water is filtered? If I fill my glass with warm water it will partially filtered, only the cold part of it?

Reverse osmosis provides thorough purification, but will also remove any healthy/ beneficial minerals as well due to the process. We've not tested any of those refillable water delivery jugs yet, but I'm fairly certain that most of those companies purify the water using reverse osmosis, which is one of the most thorough filtration processes. That said, filtering your own water at home (whether with this unit or an RO) will always be more cost effective over the long term.
Unfortunately not, you would need to manually keep track (calendar reminder in your phone) and replace the filters based on the manufacturer's recommended timeframe.
Has anyone tried to connect this directly with their refrigerator water line since Clearly Filtered has been out of stock of their inline fridge filter for sometime
@@waterfilterguruso does that mean this would do well in Nashville Tn for fluoride and arsenic? My frizzlife gpd600 just tested .3 fluoride and hot for arsenic with simple lab. 85 total score.
@@travisbrown2190 hard to say without more data about the specific situation. Did you test the water both before/ after filtration with the Frizzlife system? I find it odd that an RO wouldnt address these two issues

Yeah, it really just depends on the space available for the specific situation. Make sure to take measurements before buying any under sink filter! You want enough room to easily change the filters too
