Trusting the brand name of Clek for many years and already owning 2 Foonf models, I decided to purchase the Oobr booster seat for my 5 year old. I was extremely disappointed and feel deceived by Clek and their sneaky tactics of planned obsolescence.
The high quality metal that once made up the frame of their famed heavy duty seats, is rapidly fading. This newest Oobr model, manufactured at end of March 2023, is now almost entirely plastic. However, this fact is not advertised and many websites still post that the Clek Oobr contains a sturdy magnesium frame. Clek also transformed their once pure Merino wool fabric to a 70/30 blend with Tencel. So cutting costs while raising prices.
Hiding under the guise of "supply line shortages," Clek is jumping on the corporate bandwagon of denying consumers the quality they deserve for identical and even inflated prices. I am very upset and even feel robbed. The end of a once pleasant relationship with Clek, begins today.
