The Igamane deal is a weird one. I can understand if we were flush with cash spending a million or 2 on a real prospect. We need first team ready additions and we don't seem to have loads of cash for new players. So why is Koppen and our manager making these kinds of signings then? The strategy is like a starving man buying a scratch card with a tenner he was given, when food is what is required. Right now from the top to the bottom we look like a rudderless ship. Hopefully when the window closes we look better than this. What we have at the moment is not enough, to challenge for CL money or Celtic for any title. Unless we act, Celtic are going to equal and then surpass our title haul. Which cannot happen. Also Tav and Goldson need to go, and we need to prioritize what we require most recruitment wise.
What nonsense. Our model is designed for long term sustainability, the Gaffer said it himself. Regarding Igamane, you've got to speculate to accumulate, and our scouting system has identified him as a worthwhile investment. Our transfer model has been dreadful for so long and now we're trying something different and still folk are disgruntled!? Let's just get behind the team for goodness sake!
Still can’t believe we’ve not adressed the backline and signed a mainstay CB. A rebuild is when your build from the back and build a spine in the starting 11, all we’ve done is sign squad players for Pennie’s or on a bosman
Rangers need to do better when it comes to buying and selling. The strategy seems to have changed, and Rangers are targeting young players that they can sell on for a profit. All the young guys brought in could generate profits in the years ahead. It’s not exclusively a footballing decision. The board are willing to let Celtic overtake us in the immediate term. The board are just trying to make a good transfer fee a few years from now. If any of these lads can do a turn for us in the meantime that would be great.
@@SaselderRangers were selling players for £20m two seasons ago having just reached a major European final. Only last summer we picked up absolute ballers like Butland and Sterling for free (mainly because Beale knew these guys and worked with them in the past). Tillman was a wonderful signing but our fans accused him of faking injuries and wanted him out just because he didn’t score against Celtic. The fans are doing an excellent job at making most of these footballers dislike the fans. Some of them seem keen to move on because of it. I’m sure if Rangers aren’t winning next season, and the toxicity comes back, these new players are going to feel that and how will they hold up to it? How will they hold up if Celtic are out of sight by Christmas, Phil is sacked, and a new manager comes in who wants to play a system that does not accommodate these new players? The players are fine. It’s the situation they are coming into that is unreasonable.
Since the Europa final season we've gotten weaker year on year. I'll reserve judgement until the window closes but im not convinced we're going to sign many starting 11 players
Expecting half a dozen starters for the team by end of window. Unfortunately probably not all for Champions league qualifiers. Getting the right players in is paramount, can't sign for signing sake.
@@rangersnut You're right. But signing wrong ones won't help. I don't think we'll qualify at this point due to no starters being signed. Not one is a first choice except Cortes who is back from a major injury. It's a bit of a slow burner cause we need big earners of wage bill and they're difficult to move.
@Scottb554 yeah we do need rid of the deadwood first. Which I imagine is the real headache when we have guys like Davies on £27k per week, Goldson £37k pw, Tav £30k pw, Matondo on £23k pw. FN insanity and whoever sanctioned those deals has us backed into a corner. We are paying mediocrity way over the odds.

@Scottb554 I think you are right and of Clement truly wants Tav and Goldson to stay, if that is true I don't rate his judgement at that point. If Tav and Goldson and Davies stay, then expect to lose another title. When the pressure is on the collapse will happen at the business end and the usual just after Christmas. I really hope Clement gets them moved on and reshapes the defence. We can't keep doing the same things and expect different results.
We start another season with James Tavernier in the first 11 and we can write it off straight away. Why does nobody seem to see how big an issue this is? The back line issues are generally due to confusion since our right back CANNOT DEFEND. Remove him and you will see a massive difference… problem is we never get to see that since he starts every single fucking game.
@paulsmith7636 yep both him, Goldson, and Davies in particular. I also don't rate Souttar but as emergency cover and for the Scottish quota fine. The rest are not up to it. We needa rebuild of that backline. That is where most of the rebuild priority should be, along with a LW, a 10 if hopefully Cantwell goes and CM. Also if Dessers goes a striker is required.
I feel like a broken record here,but I must say I totally understand the player trading model must be better than it has been and selling at the right time etc is key. But we must also get players in the door with experience in this league,signing the best of the rest was always a keystone of any successful team. Now and again we have to step outside the model. I e shankland/miovski,Lennon Miller,n maybe even Armstrong from killlie could me developed into an even better player. Excited about Barrons potential. But if we think we’re gonna win the league by signing solely young potential we’re in cuckoo land. (I know there’s a llllllllong way to go in the window before anyone says)

When the games are being played at Hampden, how are they going to decide which fans sit where. I hope John Bennett comes clean and tell the fans how much the SFA are going to charge us for using Hampden .I bet they will fleece us
All of Beale’s new signings needed time to settle in and adapt to their new club last summer. Did they get it? No. Beale was sacked after 7 league games and the team was torn up - We will never know how it might have gone. Now Clement is telling us that his new signings will take time to adapt, etc. so will we be 7 points behind after 7 league games again, and if so, does Phil Clement get sacked there and then? If his managerial record is no better than Beale’s why the fuck would we keep him? It makes zero sense to sack one but not the other. Clement managed Rangers for 40 games last season including 31 league games. Phil will get his players and the preseason he has not shut up about for six months. No more excuses we expect a title win next season. A new manager brought at Christmas in to play the rest of the season, shoehorning all these new signings in to a formation they were never meant to play, is how this season will most likely end up. It’s the Rangers way.

This will be a disastrous season coming up as well as the next. We are buying cheap as clement told us we have no money. The other mob can buy players worth more than our total squad. We have a crap stadium and about to loose millions on income because of incompetence.
