She doesn't sound sufficiently Greek, that's for sure. Cleopatra VII Philopator was a Macedonian Greek of the Ptolemaic dynasty who spoke Koine Greek as a first language. She wouldn't have sounded any different than a Greek living in Roman-controlled Athens at the time. Her accent here is ridiculous, like some pseudo-Arabic nonsense that doesn't reflect reality.

Geographically speaking, Italy and the surrounding parts of Europe are fairly mountainous. It's actually a nice looking map and I'm sure that once we get hands-on footage and not just an over-head pan to Egypt it'll look even better. Compared to, say, Total War: Rome or Total War: Medieval 2 the map looks awesome. Maybe you should look at the geography of the world before you complain about mountains being where they actually are.

The Ptolemies never married Egyptians. And even if they had mistresses of Egyptian descent, any existing children from extramarital unions didn’t ascend to the throne.

Fabian Hale Fabian Hale I highly doubt that the Ptolemies we’rent well integrated with the Egyptians after hundreds of years. The Mongols integrated very quickly into Chinese culture during the Yuan Dynasty after only a century.

You’re doubts don’t exactly prove anything. What you mistake as integration is just a foreign dynasty superficially pandering to the indigenous population which is what the mongols you mention did. Throughout Egypt Greeks could mingle with Egyptians in every way, shape, and form. But Greek polis such as Alexandria, Naucratis, and Ptolemais Hermiou, It wasn’t so. And don’t forget there’s a family tree with no Egyptians, and the Ptolemies married not only amongst themselves but also other Macedonian royal houses such as the Seleucids.

Your doubts don't mean nothing, there are extensive accounts of their lineage and it's almost exclusively Greek. Alexander the great got the title after liberating Egypt and since then only ptolemies had it till the end.

Not only Cleopatra was greek from a greek family(ptolemys) but the town was greek too(Alexandria egipt). And Alexandrians was greeks too. Becouse Alexandria egipt was a greek colony urbanized from greek soldiers and greek colonyens. The rest towns of egipt was ofcourse native egiptians but they had greek military forces inside them so the greek capital(Alexandria egipt)would have the control of the conquered egiptians by the greeks. Egipt was politicly greek!

PS: There -was- a nubian dynasty for about a century, they were undoubtedly higher class nubians whom took over. Nubians were also employed in the armies of the Pharaoh.

What a crock of shit. Chariots? Those looked like Bronze Age Egyptian armies. This was PTOLEMAIC Egypt, which was Hellenistic and ruled by a Macedonian Greek royal family, you know, the one that produced Cleopatra VII Philopator. You make her sound like she's got some pseudo Arabic accent here. That's absurd. She spoke Koine Greek as a first language and viewed herself as a descendant of one of Alexander the Great's most important companions, Ptolemy I Soter.

Cleopatra's father was also her uncle, and her mother was her grandfather's niece :P Her entire ancestry is inbred from Ptolemy IV. So she's a Macedonian, Seleucid, Egyptian and.... much more.

Well Cleopatra was not from macedonia (north hellas) she was from Alexandria (hellenic urbanisation town urbanized and colonyzed by hellen soldiers and hellen colonyens)! That means she was original Hellen (hellen means greek)

Egypt of time when game Is set is very different from earlier millennia, th dynasty had Greek influence, Celopatras own younger brother and rival for the throne was Ptolemy XI who tried to rebel against Julius Caesar but failed with Celopatra taking the throne

So Cleopatra was simble original Hellin woman from a hellenic town who was capitol of the egiptian conquered towns by the hellines. Not only Alexandria egipt was hellenic. All the Alexandrias was hellenic Urbanisation colonys who the perpose was those hellenic new towns to control the foren conquered towns.

i know she was born into it, but what does that have to do with what im asking? The only written text about her appearance said she had reddish brown hair which means the Cleo in the video above is wrong. Mixed people especially black and white mix always come out looking darker than their white parent. Just think about it, if you go to the beach today for an hour a week you'll have a tan. Now imagine what its like if you were to live in Egypt your whole life.

Yes thats true. The blood of Cleopatra comes from NORTH GREECE(macedonia). The capitol state (Alexandria) was OFCOURSE greek too. The Greek PTOLEMAIC empaier has been based to the greek capitol state and the ptolemaic greek kings. It was a Greek empaier (just like Roman empaier)

It's not impossible, it's a lot of work. When you games like forza where hundreds and hundreds of cars are 3d modelized (and I'm working in the industry) believe me when I say that recording 150 languages is easier than creating ONE faction :D

I know my history very well.Her father was Nubian. For the majority of her life she was in Egypt. those two facts make her either dark skinned or a deep caramel color. even her oldest sculpture clearly has a wide/flat nose. if you Google "the real face of Cleopatra" Egyptologist made a 3D model of what she looked like from the information of their studies.

I understand better than you think, I KNOW some are not spoken anymore, but that's not the case of all of them. If they wanted, they COULD make ancient greek or latin. I'm talking to you about the possibility of dubbing with languages many faction, and it's possible.And btw, I'm from east France, I speak german and didnt found the german in aoe horrible at all. Seen worse in many "pro" movies or documentaries :D

The Ptolemaic Dynasty was of Greek origin. Ignorance of this fact isn't a problem, but a simple search online would produce tons of material that proves you wrong. Your apparent unwillingness to learn is the real problem.

Well, we can both agree she wasn't anywhere as white as shown in this video. Bi-racial kids tend to be closer to one or the other (I know half Asians that look quite Asian, and half Asians that look closer to whatever they are mixed with). I've seen sculptures, her nose and face looks quite "white" to me, but at the end of the day they're just sculptures which may not represent her completely. National Geographic also made a 3D model, which is the other extreme, where she's quite white.

You don't know your facts. Since the first Ptolemy, all Pharaohs were of Greek decent. Look up Cleopatra VII on Wikipedia. They didn't even speak Egyptian, they spoke Greek. Also the original Egyptians are of Arabic descent, they're not black

You are wright Rohan. The hellenic kings of Alexandria egipt they did not even know egiptian. The hellin kings and the hellenic Alexandria ruled the egiptian towns for 300 YEARS and the only hellin ruler who ever lern egiptian (as a second language ofcourse) was Cleopatra! The truth is that the egiptians did not want the Alexandrians (hellines) thats why they made 20 REVOLUTIONS in only 300 years (thats 1 revolution per 15 years!!!)
