Save a seat for me in Glory. Rev. Clay Evan's accompaiment was so great too. I hope they both made in and will be able to look the Lord in the face, because God we all will never see, because he is a spirit only. So if anyone ever says they have seen God they probably don't know what they are saying. None of us will ever see God, only his son Jesus' face we will see. Some people probably don't believe this, but just be grateful that we can his son, Jesus, and I always capapilize both names as you will notice. I try to live right and treat everyone with respect. It isn't easy to do these things, but Jesus, and God will help us to do it. Rev. Clay Evans enjoyed it too, the way he sat down when Rev. Robinson hit that special note at the end of the song was so great.
I saw Rev. Robinson in concert many years ago and he sang so great back then. I hope he isn't gone now, but so many of the great gospel singers are gone now. I miss all of them because I have always loved true gospel singing. I know all who are now dead, but I want list them here, but I miss all of them. them here at this time, I can tell you of the greats are now gone. Well, I will name some, Tommy Ellison of the 5 singers Stars out of Brooklyn NY, Clay Graham, of the Jubes, Willie Neal Johnson, of the keynotes, from Tyler Texas, Willie Banks, of the Messengers, he died with lung cancer after the accident in which one member lost his life, Slim (Howard Hunt) of The Supreme Angels, Calvert McNair, Bill Woodruff, both of the Sensational Nightengales. Major Roberson and Ben Chandler of the Jubes, Martin Jacox of the Soul Stirrers, Joe Ligon(Ligone) of the Mighty Clouds Of Joy, there might be some I have missed, Oh there's one more, it is Rev. Reuben Willingham, who could really pray. There's probably more. I do know that William (Billl Woodruff) died on the road in his hotel room before he could sing that night, my son was working the his hotel room before he could sing that night, my son who was working for the Atlanta Constitution wrote a story while traveling with the Sensational Nightengales, he wrote about their road concerts. I had 5 children and two of them have doctorates. I have a grandson who is an Medical Doctor in North Carolina, with the help of the Lord, I raised them to be where they are now, just me and the Lord did it. That is why I give God and his son, Jesus all of the praise. He saved my soul long ago in my Home Church. I have been praising him ever since. God has brought me from a long way, and I give him all of the glory, without God, I am nothing. I don't mind at all talking about he has been so good to me. True christians know what I'm talking about. My oldest sister had a dream about our dad who was dead for years told her that and he told her that I was going to church with her on Sunday so she came with clothes for my only child because she did not know that I had been praying for the Lord to save me when she got their with the clothes, so I put the clothes on my child with tears streaming down my face, I asked God to meet me in church that Sunday, I don't know who grabbed the child from me, but I got saved that Sunday, and I got saved that Sunday. I looked at my hands, they looked new, everything looked new. When I got baptized, I was jumping and praising the Lord all over again. My youngest daughter, who was 46 has been dead over 6 years now, and I never questioned God about taking her because he knew what he was doing. I went to the bathroom at the hospital that night and told God to let his will be done, just make me enough to deal with her death. I now visit her grave and place and keep the flowers changed. All of my children are saved and filled with God's spirit, yes one of my son is a preacher. God would wake him up at night and he would have to read his bible. He went into the dark woods one night, because he knew God was testing him. When he came back he fell into the backdoor , telling me was called and he had to preach God's word. He preached my Mom's funeral and his Sister's funeral too, but he had to pray hard to be able to do it. This testimony has lasted than I intended it to last, but I guess I want the listeners to know that I got the old time religion. I don't let a day go by without thanking God for everything. I thank him everyday for everything, letting me still be here I realize that he didn't have to do it, but he did. My dad, who was having trouble breathing, he never smoked, but he died with lung cancer that started with a tumor on his intestines, then it spreaded and got into his lungs, he said he felt so good, and he was not hurting of all of of the pain he was not hurting he wasn't feeling any pain anywhere that Sunday in 1954 when died. He was 48 years old when he died. So my Mother raised 8 children after he passed away. I sit and have to cry about how far the Lord has brought me, and I still thank and praise him all of the time. Speaking of my Mother she was a strong woman who prayed all of the time. I had 5 children who the Lord and me raised. It was tough, but God helped me do it. I know I've practically written a book tonight, but true religion will make you do that sometime.
You are so true he had a wonderful voice and gospel singers today need to take time and really listen at the ole gospel singers they didn't need all the stuff they have today they sang from therir souls.
When I was turning to God back in the 80's the that I was attenting at that time there were a young lady still in her teen's would sing this song in the choir. Pam you know who you are and if you are still sing in the choir what ever church you are attending now this your signature song, it was anointed back then and I know there no doubt that it will anointed today. This is a powerful song with powerful meaning. God Bless!!!!

I remember my mother having an LP by Rev. Cleophus Robinson where he did a sermon titled "Don't die in the wintertime " I can't seem to find it anywhere online. It was powerful.
Ahhh Reeev.,Rev. Cleophus Robinson one of the Smooooothest of his time (1 of my daddy's fav.), I would listen to his records and envision his movement and I would always think "He has such a Smooth Jazzy Flair, I know he has to Slide n Glide every now n then", I see I wasn't too far off :}
I'm sorry that I practically wrote a book about my saved life in the comment below, but I just had to let everyone know how good God has been to me. Maybe someone will want their life to change like mine has been when I got saved.
Sometimes, I get so tired. The burdens of this life get so very heavy, But, I know that the Lord is holding me up. I know this, because He speaks to my heart and pulls me up when I am tired of running. Yes! He’s is saving.a seat for me.
Rev. Robinson really sang the song "May God Be With You" also. I love that one by him. It is a song that is sung at benediction when church services close on Sundays. This song is really a prayer until we meet again.
a lot ppl of younger ppl don't like cleophus Robinsons music but if you just listen to his music carefully it can help you with your toughest times I'm only 23
