@@COMBATPULSEMMA Browns had to let Flacco go. Stefanski needed to have a sure way of starting Watson this season so he would have another scapegoat to mask his terrible coaching. We can’t have people thinking that we can win in spite of Stefanskis terrible play calling like what happened last year with Flacco. People would figure out his coach of the year award was a big hoax. Flacco had to go to save Kevin. Watson gives the current administration another out, in case the season is a failure.. just blame it on the overpaid pervert qb.
They cared more about having a star name at QB. Sam Darnold and Baker are better than Watson who peaked his last healthy year in Houston. Would have been WAY better off keeping Baker and better off keeping Flacco.

Moving on from baker was defensible at the time… remember reports were that he turned down a $30M per year deal with the browns and after having to earn his deal in Tampa he signed for $33M… his value no after the market is only $33M the browns would have made that work… pretty sure they also reported that the browns got the impression that they weren’t even close and so because he wanted more than he was worth so they had to move on. Deshaun Watson was pushed for by the Haslams, Andrew Barry has actually done a great job considering the circumstances.

Why wasn’t Stefanski chewing out the line? Why did it have to be Watson and Winston giving Jones what for? Stefanski does not know how to adjust. He is too prideful to admit his game plans fail terribly. In the past, he’s been bailed out by some great supporting coaches around him. Bill Callahan, Schwartz, Stump, Van Pelt. If it wasn’t for Schwartz defense last year and Joe Flacco coming in and shocking everyone with his elevated play, Stefanski would not be the coach this year, and would have never won coach of the year. Let’s be honest, coach of the year last season,belongs to Dan Campbell. Stefanski did not deserve it. Unfortunately Schwartz has been figured out on defense. I think he has not yet recovered from getting exposed in the embarrassing playoff loss. This year It looks like Schwartz hasn’t yet been able to adjust to a failing offense that keeps the defense consistently on the field…. But that’s a pretty bad bag he has been handed, while trying to build back some defensive momentum. Chubb will not be the answer either. We don’t have the line to produce the run right now. I’m concerned Chubb will get hurt again because of it. Overall, we do have the players to win, unfortunately we don’t have the right coach putting it all together.
Dan campbell deserved to get snubbed for coach of the year after blowing that 24-7 lead at the NFC GAME.. WE HAD THAT GAME IN THE BAG AND WE BLEW IT!!!

He also made it to NFC Championship game while Stefanski was sitting home licking his wounds from the beating the Texans gave him. Plus it does not take a genius to win with one of the best rosters in football that the browns have fielded. That did not warrant any COTY accolades. He won it off of shock value because the browns had been in the toilet for 20 years prior. No one was expecting them to win.

He needs to decide, does he want to sit in the booth and call plays and be an OC somewhere else or does he want to be a head coach for the Browns. I have been a Watson Stan since he got here… hoping he would figure it out and put his past behind him. But I’m finally realizing that HE is the reason this team is so awful now. It’s not necessarily his play on the field…. It’s all of the DAMAGE his drama did and the fact that he just doesn’t seem like a true leader. It’s so obvious that there is ZERO cohesion with this team. As much as it pains me to admit, we MUST cut Watson loose and try to draft a QB… and probably give Vrabel the keys as well.

Kevin Stefanski is the biggest con-man of a coach the sport has ever seen, maybe along with Tomlin. The media and casual fans think he's an elite coach because he somehow won two coach of the year awards. I'm not even a Browns fan but I feel sorry for you guys, I can see how bad he is and you're basically stuck in a purgatory with Stefanski despite having a great roster.
Put the two biggest asterisks ever next to those hood ornament, fake ass coach of the year awards. 1st one was a covid season and he was exposed when avp was coach of the playoff game against steelers, and 2nd was more credit to schwartz and flacco being still available and all three of their starting qb’s getting hurt.
@@mattr27 I’m no Steelers fan, but at least Tomlin does not prioritize calling failing plays over managing the team and flow of the game. Tomlin stays in his lane and has, in the past benefited from a great system built by Bill Cowher and Lebeau. Stefanski should take a lesson from Tomlin and not try and do too much.
