The Cleveland Guardians beat the Detroit Tigers 8-7 in 10 innings on Tuesday night, improving their extra innings record to 7-2 on the season.
That's the 2nd best mark in baseball. The Guardians were able to hold off a wild Tigers rally late after Ben Lively fell off a cliff on his third trip through the lineup.

I think the Guardians are having an issue with starting pitching adjustments 3rd time through the lineup. it just seems like they can't get through the 6th inning.

Draft or deadline - Deadline - 1. If you play an excellent game and fumble in the fourth quarter, all is for naught. 2. Guards ability to bring prospect in through trade devalues importance of their own draft.

I give Deshaun’s 2nd half a good deal of credit because it was against a really good defense, he put the team on his back and outplayed future MVP Lamar down the stretch. For as good as Baker had been from time to time, AFAIK he never beat Lamar. Do some overrate that half? Sure. But I think downplaying a game winning drive in Baltimore against the eventual 1st seed and their future MVP QB, to this level, is a bit silly.

Baker beat lamar twice, once in Baltimore too. Not a big deal its just a regular season game. And on top of that baker has clearly outplayed deshaun since the trade, all bakers passing stats are superior to deshauns over the last 2 years. And baker just won another playoff game. Something deshaun has never done for cleveland.

@@anthonypa8045 and that’s fair, I’d also argue that Baker’s playing in the weakest division in the weaker conference so it’s a bit skewed. Yeah, he’s still played better than Deshaun but I don’t know how well Baker would play if he was still in Cleveland. When exactly were his wins against Baltimore? Are we counting the one where Lamar went out with an injury in the first half a few years ago?

@@GuitaroMAN44 correction baker beat lamar 3 times, although one of those 3 lamar did not start, still he played and baker beat him up to you to define how one qb beats another qb. But yea baker beat the ravens 3 times with lamar playing qb. 2018,2019, and 2021.. again not a big accomplishment. Post season wins are big accomplishments.
