Glad you enjoyed a walk through the lovely Cleveleys Stephen, you certainly sound impressed and why would you not! It's a fabulous little town with all the shops and amenities you could want. If you'd been at the same time on Saturday you'd have found it packed out - it's busy all day, all year round - and a bit later on Sundays too! The original B&M site isn't where the shop is - it's at the back of the car park over the road. We'll have to do a double-hander one day next year and I'll take you on a guided tour!
Glad you enjoyed walking through the lovely Cleveleys today victoria road in CLEVELEYS IN BLACKPOOL ENGLAND UK 🇬🇧 BLACKPOOL GREAT BRITAIN 🇬🇧 👍 WOULD BE THE BEST ONE IN BLACKPOOL ENGLAND
@@TheBorzoilover Yes, a lot of cheap cleaning materials of which it mostly smelt of and a very uneven floor that they wouldn't get away with now, I don't think x
@@philiphardman589 Yes that's right my mother was a bit dubious of buying any canned food goods from there she thought that because the prices were cheap they would not be any good, a bit different today, although i don't have a B&M in my town wish we did.
Oh my, I moved there 1n 1977, I was 12 years old. Now I am 57, and I visited there just a few months ago for the first time in 40 years. I tried to track you down in Blackpool for a few days but couldn't find you. To see this now 2 months after i visited is quite surreal. Thanks for posting, I doubt I will ever be on the Fylde coast again in this lifetime. Whats more, you were outside the Victoria Hotel, I worked upstairs in what was the, "ROOFTOPS RESTAURNAT" as a waiter. Unbelievable. The bank you talk about on the other corner on Rossal Road use to be Midland bank.
This video brought back happy memories. We used to stay in Clevleys in a flat on the promenade. It was lovely to watch the sea and wonderful sunsets. Sadly my husband died in 2019. I love watching your videos.
I know what you mean Anne, I feel like this about Blackpool as well. I too lost my other half 2017 so these places hold very precious memories for me. My dream is to move there one day❤️😊
Hi there, another fantastic video from you. I do enjoy your channel watching all parts of Blackpool and the surrounding area. Really good. work really good job.
Hi, Steve. Enjoyed the stroll but at 15.50, the sound of the sea sent me to sleep and I've just woken up with no power left in my phone 😂. Top work, man 👍.
As a Bispham Boy (Boy? 🤣🤣) Anyway, Cleveleys is my local High Street. 2 bakers, fishmonger, butcher, greengrocer, delicatessen, coffee shops, JS local, pubs and even £Land B&M and Home Bargains. Good charity shops too. We need to keep it alive peeps.
Looks Awesome at Cleveleys plenty of shopping think just before you got to the prom in middle of road Old type Band stand I bet them lights look good at night on the prom thanks for the interesting video last time you did video about Cleveleys you mentioned about your pictures in the cafe ..
What a lovely walk Stephen, you know how much I love Cleveleys, it was so good to see all the shops, cafes and of course the promenade. The sea sounded and looked fantastic, I love listening to the waves. I remember your Anchorsholme Park video very well, there was hardly any sound and you almost fell over. I'm sure Jane won't mind you having a little dander through her patch 😉 xxx
Taken from Wikipedia. The B&M business was founded by Malcolm Billington as Billington & Mayman and the first store opened in Cleveleys, England, in 1978.
Brought back some lovely memories Stephen of when I came over to spend time with my sister she loved cleveleys and going into B and M bargains and we would have a cup of coffee and a scone in one of the cafes..I miss her....
Thank you so much Stephen for your lovely video, bringing back special memories of my childhood. I can remember the original B&M , it was a treat going in there! Thank you for a walk down memory lane! ❤❤
Thanks Stephen! The original B&M was across the adjacent car park, I remember it was a ramshackle old place, looked liked a block of garages that had been knocked through. On busy days you had to queue to get in because there were too many people for the fire regulations!
Excellent video of cleveleys great area too I migt go visit the area next time I am in blackpool i do like listen to the sea too i can't wait for next video top job Stephen i can't wait for next video mate
As a child from Mereside Council Estate where everybody either was a dodgy so & so or knew one (Thornton) Cleveleys was where did jobs for posh folk or occasionally met a schoolfriend from Blackpool Grammar. I am just retired and Cleveleys would be perfect but I am not well and all my hospital appointments in London are five minutes away. I would love to visit more often but finding a train that will accept my mobility scooter and a hotel that will let me charge it has been very problematic. I watch your excellent videos Stephen with so many emotions for my wonderful Blackpool that is now a sorry state. Wow. I need a lie down in a dark room now.
Thanks Kevin. Sorry about your condition. My grandad & grandma lived on Branstree Road in Mereside in the 70’s. We did quite a bit of growing up there, but never really saw any trouble.
Thank you for the memory. I was born on Langdale Road in 1956 and there was plenty of fighting but we all knew each other -(literally) - and it was all handbags at dawn whilst we jockeyed for position. The only skill I took from my childhood really unless you count drinking like a fish. Thank you for the comment.
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always I love cleveleys absolutely amazing place I always go into cleveleys kitchen for lunch excellent food and it's so clean the staff are great too love going to see St Mary's shell and the ogre have a great evening xx
Thanks for sharing, I visited Cleveleys when I was over in UK May-June 2019. Such a lovely quieter spot. But I completely missed seeing Mary’s Shell and the Ogre.
Great video Stephen. We visit B'pool several times a year. We always make a day for Cleveleys and Fleetwood. There's a great cafe in Cleveleys. I always end up buying a cheap watch. I must have about 20 now. None of them work! Beautiful place and lovely people.
Visited many times although not for a few years now, used to absolutely love them cafes with homemade pies, pasties absolutely gorgeous. Great video stephen .
Nice video of Cleveleys. Yes I remember that Anchorsholme Park live. It was last year and if I recall you had sound issues and were struggling to get the live stream working properly. Anyway nice shops and promenade there Cleveleys.
jane says that road used to be residential only and the wideness is due to the areas outside the shops originally being gardens she pointed out the boundary where the garden ends and the council maintained path starts
Love a stroll round cleveleys and a mooch round the shops checking the Xmas stuff it's always nice at Christmas the carasel cafe does a good fry up brekki worth a stop when in cleveleys think the venue is a nice place to eat and a stroll down the beach to work off the fry up brekkis on a nice warm day Mondays are most busy in cleveleys good video can't wait for the next one
Loved this video Stephen. We were down a couple of weeks ago and we had breakfast in a little place calked Irene’s for an amazing unlimited breakfast. You need to check it out next time you are hungry 😊c
i use to have meals in tramway it was a nice place when we lived around corner from it steve sit out side summer yes its a pleasent place...john..south shore...
Great video mate as allways Jane be OK with you filming here I'm coming to Blackpool this weekend it be nice to see around anyway plans where you might be filming so may get to see you
I use to live in Cleveleys. I bought my first house there. The house prices are really good for what you get. But there isn’t much going on for the younger folk
jane says that road used to be reaidential only and the wideness is due to the areas outside the shops originally being gardens she pointed out the boundary where the garden ends and the council maintained path starts
I am sure Jane would love to see you taking an interest in her patch. We are meant to be getting a new super branch of B and M in Kilmarnock. Three units knocked into one. Had coffee at Cleveleys kitchen with my lovely friends a couple of years ago.
This is good timing, assuming the weather isn't chucking it down, I'm thinking of driving up to Cleveleys this Sunday and cycling down to Lytham. I've not been to Cleveleys for about 45 years. I'm sure we had a family holiday there.
I remember staying in a self catering place when i was a kid. Years back. 1960s. Right next to a railway crossing. I wonder what road that would have been. Dont suppose they have a railway nowadays
Blimey imagine if the most interesting thing about a town was the fact it was the site of one of the crappiest discount chains of all crappy discount chains 🤣 Good vid
Doubtless You remember B.O.C. who were alleged to be better people to buy from and "The Earls Court of the north "Apparently B.O.C. stood for Bolton,Oldham,Cleveleys. Is this true ?
thats not the sight whrere bm started . the car park across the road from the bus station there used to be garages at the back of the carpark, and it was the garages that were converted in to a store and that was the original B&M
