I get the most satisfaction from successfully implementing new things. This piece I incorporated clarinet to provide more continuity with “As Time Slows Down”. I had a certain image in my mind when scoring this piece, which was a person suspended in air while time stopped. I was fascinated with @Ludwig Goransson’s “Oppenheimer” theme, which utilizes several tempo shifts and I felt this track warranted such a theme. Goransson integrates the shifts so seamlessly you don’t really feel the change in tempo, my shift is not as smoothly executed, but I kept it as is because I think I captured a jarring sudden feeling of temporal displacement. I also struggled with the decision to add congo drums as it’s tricky to implement with time shifts, but I like the grounded tone they set. I would say this piece is somewhat experimental for me, It’s an odd marriage of ideas but I think it turned out okay, what do you think?
