Wow I’m the flip of that. I love textiles the most but I have some linear switches that “perform” better? I love how easy it is to type with heavy linears. I lose accuracy with tactile sometimes and definitely light springs but I can’t escape that sound ❤
@@indiamarispereira6944 "I like pancakes" "So you hate waffles?" Bro, that's the most moronic response, clearly liking a keyboard seitch doesn't mean betraying that
I had clicky blues when I first started getting into mechanical keyboards, progressed to tactile and now I'm on linears. It feels like a natural progression lol
fr there's no such thing as a clicky or tactile fan its just people who haven't found a linear they like yet (i can prove from experience as a previous tactile fan)
Yes! The same is happening here! From clicky to tactile to linear! I found myself wondering why my preference has changed, but then I see that I'm not the only one who changed!
sometimes I do like the light feel on linear switches, but for typing I do prefer the tactile switches since it give you a slight bump that somewhat satisfying
@@Ali_Boh Below 50 is really steep!!! However, the Epomaker shadow x is commonly on sale for 42 on Amazon and has a tactile version.... That's really the best I can do.
For someone who learned on a manual typewriter linear are the worst. 😂. Silent tactile on the medium heavy side are the sweet spot. It took me a while to find what worked best for me. T1 shrimp is where I ended up in the office and baby kangaroo at home.
Back when gaming keyboards were all the rage, clickies used to be synonymous with the term "Mechanical Keyboard." When I first got into PC gaming, if you were talking to me about Mechanical Keyboard, my first mind was toward the clickiness. Mechanical Keyboards have come a long way.
I started with linear switches, then it feels too bored, then I get clicky switches but it gets too loud and now I use tactile switches. I still keep all my previous keyboard just to switch whenever I feel bored
Yes, having a variety of keyboards is fun! I change keyboards everytime I begin to feel bored (and I also change their caps, I change the switches and put foam under the space bar to mute their sound).
I am old enough to have used many typewriters, while yet not being old. So-called "clicky" switches do not sounds like any typewrite I ever used, manual or electric. I never had an issue with typewriting sounds, but most clicky switches annoy me to no end. It's like noise without purpose. Like your neighbor's annoying stupid little dog that barks at nothing, endlessly, day and night
i use all kind depend on the situation in bedroom Silent Linear (or else i'll be killed) in Office Tactile (If I need a lil bit quiet) & Clicky (gateron green which i've already modify it with heavier spring and used it on cheap empty shell non mod & non lubed stabilizer keyboard to produce very crispy sound) sometimes to annoy my workmate lol
recommending linear switches for typist feels like a sin. tactile switches really are just better for typing. However, a linear switch can be easier to press (sometimes)
If you work with these keyboard people and see this, PLEASE HELP!!!! I swapped to a low profile keyboard with corsair about 3-4 years ago due to issues with rheumatoid arthritis. The shorter keys, lower to the desk keyboard, better angle, and shorter key presses were a god send. I literally doubled my play time on games and typing. But ive gone through one of these keyboards and got a replacement and corsair has stopped making them. Every other brand has almost stop producing these low pro keyboards. No other makers as far as ive found make short keys with short key strokes along with a built in wrist rest and lower keyboard position to match this. I just wish someone would follow in the k65 low profile's shoes. Every other keyboard ive tried that is lowpro well at least like the 2 ive seen. Have all been crappy keys like laptop keys with no shape and flat. that makes typing even harder. the curved way most gaming keyboards angle their keys is actually beter and i feel i have to move my finder less distance than one thats just super flat
I have a very old dusty keyboard from 2020 which i still always use since then and it kinda wobbles and now i realised m key switches feel like theyre tactile switches but a little more force is needed Im planning to gwt clicky switches because for 4 years of using a tactile like switch id actually like loud keyboards 😭
Which one is better for doing precise, near pixel perfect inputs like for fighting games like Brawlhalla? Linear or tactile? I mean i want switches that are very easy to press and sound thocky/good but also very accurate and fast with minimal input lag.
All keyboards have relatively the same input lag/polling rate. It won't really matter. The pole length might affect how soon the switch actuates after physically pressing it - so "long pole" switches which as also pretty loud and lower pitched might be what you're after. On the other hand, hall effect boards like the wooting 80 and wooting 60 have hall effect switches that are said to be better for some competitive gamers due to their adjustable actuation points and features like rapid fire trigger, but subjectively they don't sound as good to me as non-hall effect switches.
I love my clickies but my boyfriend forbid me to get a other one cause we game close together and its annoing for him when I play my keyboard like a piano XD had a black widow and that shit was so damn loud... Now I have a oretty cheap noname mechanical and no idea about what switches it has and dont care cause getting a customized one will propably lose me my numb pad
i do have to say i just bought my first mechanical keyboard for only $30 on amazon and i do have to say the linear swithes feel and sound so nice compared to the crappy membrane keyboard that is now sitting in my closet and will be sold edit: the keyboard i got is the Womier WK61 Blue sea PBT keycap 60% keyboard
didn't expect the husky linear's to pop up, they are awesome and I absolutely love them :D Literally tried alot of top rated switches building a zoom 65 v2.5 - Husky came out on top for me
@@shadowxtremo I type 8+ hours a day, used to love clicky keyboards and have used them for ten years. Then I switched to linears and just for the feel and sound of it I fell in love. My productivity is the same (or better) now. I guess it depends on the learning curve and getting used to it.
@@daysebatista the thing is, if it requires a learning curve it isn't good. It's not like learning a new layout, you straight up lose features when going from tactile to linear. I have linear switch keyboards and I can feel the smoothness and can appreciate the sound. But I will never be able to use it for work, as I learned to write without bottoming out, so I benefit from the feedback. Also the religion part, there are 20 times the amount of linear switches in comparison with other types, but apart from the material and colors all are the same (you can change springs on switches if you want). And then the appreciation for tactiles comes with the T1 or zealios types which are too damn tactile, it results in a linear feel after the immediate bump, and that's why they promote them also. For the clicky switches? They only describe them as "noisy and bothersome".
I used to love blue switches so much that I have six clicky keyboards, but lately I fell in love with linear switches, because altough I live alone, the clic-clac in the complete silence of the wee hours was bothering me. I also have a tatcile keyboard, and I love the feel and the more subtle noise.
Generally tactiles arent demanding on your fingers unless you go real heavy. Linear are actually more demanding your on your fingers after typing for a long time cause they have a constant build up of resistance
My keyboard comes with a red linear switch and I type a lot as an online teacher. I’m not a “proper” typer or whatever it’s called with the finger placements and I tend to make more mistakes with linear since I don’t feel the bump😅 tactile it is!
Also, even if I watched a lot of videos for the keyboard I have, the sound is the same but the feel…. The FEEL can’t be shown on video! So sad I can’t find a shop where you can sample switches on keycaps coz the feel is important to me
