Client says, "price is too high!" what do you do as a bookkeeper?

What if your potential bookkeeping client says your price is too high? You have two basic paths: walk away or strategically negotiate. If you walk away, remember that there are other bookkeeping clients out there that will pay your prices (most likely). If you choose to negotiate, see what their essential bookkeeping service needs are--maybe they don't need as extensive as a package. I also go into, how much should you charge as a bookkeeper and would I lower my prices for a client?

If I ever hear " uhhh that's more than what I expected " or your price is too high" then they are not the right fit. They need to see my value to pay my price. If they don't see my value then they think they can do it themselves and save that money 🤦‍♀️ the clean up and catch up will cost more 💯

Your example about your yard is right on! It’s all about value. I would argue that once you calculate what your time is worth per hour and know that you can hire someone to do that activity for less than your personal per hour rate, hire them immediately. Because that’s lost opportunity cost for you.

Hi Krista ... really like your channel just found you after Booming Bookkeeping Business sticker shock of $6K for there program. I am going through your video content. I am enjoying it. Thanks for your YT channel. I am still in sticker shock on 6K price tag. Can this be done on your own any thoughts on DYI or a cheaper option to becoming a Bookkeeper but still get trained? Thanks again for any directional help and assistance.

Hey Melisa, I bought multiple products from booming bookkeeping and they are okay. They lack a lot of detail in the courses although the information provided is accurate, it’s just not in depth.

Hi Morgan, I love your videos! You have helped me so much; thank you! I'm in CA too. I have different pricing strategies I've developed after years of working on this and studying. I have a flat rate for doing audits/diagnostics. Base flat rate is $450/month for comprehensive managed bookkeeping or rate of $85/hr. I don't do much hourly, though, and I usually develop a customized flat rate package approach for each client.

This is about something different.. I don't reconcile a credit card..the CPA is ok with just a capital one card being used for gas.. so on bank feed I do capital one under vendor and expense gas... But now QuickBooks is giving me an error message I need to record this as credit card ??

It's hard to advise from afar. Is your Capital One set up as a CC in QB or a bank? I would prob do a JE in this case, maybe the total gas per month (assuming the CPA is on board).
