She has nice skin and beautiful eyes and I swear she looks 10 years younger!!! Love this edgy style and with this cut there is some flexibility, waves or curls, side swept bangs etc. I'm all for changing up on style, whether its clothing, interior design and absolutely hairstyles. JMO

Although this client does look YEARS younger, I am not a fan of this particular hair cut style. A neater pixie would have been cute too, but of course, it is whatever the client wants. It took GUTS to cut off long locks.

I actually had to rewind back 3 times as i so enjoy this lady transformation! She look like a different person& those eyes! Are beautiful!. A change was need in this lady & u Nail it. I bet she feels so much better about her self!. When we began to let things go SOMETIMES it just works! She is What i am calling Grace with a purpose!. This is great work Carla. I've been loc'd for 6 years myself but my cutting point would be if they got too heavy. Everyone has their own journey and she's on to another phase in hers. Her hair can now grow back in healthier than before. Thanks for sharing

Had two girlfriends that had locs. 1 down her back to butt. She rencently pass away. & her hair was stunning over 25 years. & 1 about 10 years she rencently cut her off. First to ears, then 6 months later all off. They became heavy she said. So yes all have a hair Journey & wish all peace, well in theirs. Beautiful work u did. grace to all. gh

I've never worn locs myself, but I know that my hair began thinning on top in my early 50's. So I can imagine that the weight of the loc and certainly numerous other factors may have caused it. But who knows, right? Enjoy your short cut Girl - I'm doing the same thing too! 😊

That’s what happened to me. My locs were about her length and they started falling out. My loctician never told me how thin my hair was getting and when I eventually cut off my locs, my hair was almost bald! Had she told me I could have gone to a dermatologist sooner and possibly saved some of my hair, but it was too late! The loss had apparently started years earlier. I grew locs to protect my hair and had them for 14 years!

If I knew at the age of 19 when I started my locs in 2009 that I would have alopecia by the time I turned 21 trust me I would have never got locs no I didn’t retwist often I went once a month or would skip a month or two. I tried everything in my power to save my locs my last resort were injections after 6 months they stopped the treatment once the alopecia started moving to the front I decide to cut them off when I turned 29 got tired of putting them in a bun and using black spray. It was embarrassing and I didn’t feel pretty anymore now I use lace wigs and I’ve never felt so beautiful and confident. Glad I let my locs go.

I had locs 12 years and I had to cut mine too! I’m saw my edges starting to thin and I was like Nope! They gotta go! I cut them a year and half ago and never looked back... I’m glad I cut them... rocking a brush cut for now...they where beautiful but it’s a new season...

@@blackgirlalchemy5156 my hair has always been fine and fragile. Even the weigh of box braids and the tension and friction from cornrows would traumatise my follicles and break my hair off. Now I only wear twists, flat twists and 2 or 3 French braids. Wigs only once or twice a month.

Hey Carla ❤️ I’m not a stylist but sis wasn’t taking care of her dreads properly I believe and it could’ve been her stylist as well. I’ve never seen anything like that. When she saw things going left she should’ve done something then, you know? Regardless, as always you did your thing and corrected it. Very beautiful. I love the short look.

I love what you do, but I am sad that I can't find anyone who can help me with my hair journey. I love my locs and they look beautiful! At 48 I was diagnosed with Genetic Alopecia and every day my locs are falling out it is painful for me to watch. After all, I went through Chemo and didn't lose any hair but my genetics are doing me in. If you can suggest someone near the New York area that could help me I would appreciate it.
