Jumped off it yesterday still a great cliff, incidentally there were a group of college kids also jumping, witnessed an accident that was scary, when my daughter and I arrived in Kayaks, we were looking up, 2 girls were looking down from the top, they were calculating and I assume decided to jump together holding hands, once girl got cold feet right at the last point while the other lept and was airborn, holding her hand she got jerked back to the wall and started sliding down almost pulling the other girl who tried to pull her up, it happened so fast, she ended up sliding / bounching down the rock into the water. She's alive because she did not hit her head too hard I guess, she was bleeding a little but conscious. She seemed to walk it off and we witnessed the group back at the parking lot, she had a ice pack over her eye to keep the swelling down.
Great video! Will the rangers give you a hard time on the MD side or Virginia side? Also, on the second jump, have you seen people free climbing and if it is allowed? Thank you!
Doesn't matter which side - I was climbing on VA side, ranger saw swimmers on MD side and called it in. 15 minutes later cops showed up. If a ranger catches you on either side, you're getting a fine.
Adam Muldoon The 2nd jump is in MD on the other side of the river. The rangers will give you a hard time if they see you. Just swim to the other side, :-)
