@@Mysterywhiteboy78 Thanks. No doubt, you are right about these influencies, but don't forget that Cliff Richard was a british answer to Elvis. And we can say that he was the principal britain rock singer to call young britains' attention at the end of the fifties. I'd just turned 9 when this was broadcast - not that I watched it (not sure we even had a TV), but what a great live performance! Turn the volume up & you'll understand how exciting music was in those days - & continued to be for quite a while. Now, however, rock 'n' roll is 70 years old, & contemporary music is, sadly, showing its age.

Astonishing to think when this show went out Cliff was still 19, Hank and Bruce were 18, Jet was 20 and Tony had just had his 17th birthday! And at that age they were biggest act in the UK amazing! 60 years later still going strong. Tony Meehan was a classy drummer, his style was totally different from other drummers at that time

When I was like 5 in the 70's I was really stuck on a couple of his new hits, then 45 yrs later I realize he kicked rockabilly ass before that. Cliff Richard was an extremely talented artist.

I didn’t know this song when I was in Hong Kong because the DJ on Hong Kong Radio didn’t play this song. It’s better late than never.

Always amused by the simple drum sets in those days, all the equipment carried in one truck! Nowadays, several trucks needed just to carry the speakers!
