Mexico, I just completed the operation! I sent my fcim to “PCB Improvements” on eBay for $265 shipped total. I got it back and it work great. I also used a cheap interior panel kit. I never would have done this without your advice. Thanks ❤

Thank you Mexico, I was having this problem on an off for almost two years. It got so bad none of the buttons would work at all. You explained how easy it was to remove the panel and get access. Once I did, I took apart the electronics and cleaned and relaid the capacitive touch panel. Everything is back together and works like a charm.

You just saved me. I’m going crazy with this issue, I have a 2013 MKT with the same problem, I saw the FCIM for $250 I’ll buy it and replace it. Btw, this is a well known problem on ford and lincoln vehicles, but they still saying is not a manufactured problem when in reality it is, avoid the Dealer unless you have full warranty on the car, they’ll be charging a lot of money for the replacement

Dude, there is nothing wrong at all with your English. I just wanted to let you know. I know that some people have trouble with a person's home country accent, but your speech is completely understandable. It makes me wonder for how long my Polish Great-grandmother and Great-grandfather, and my English and Irish Great-grandparents on the other side felt that they had to keep apologizing until they spoke as clearly as you do. Thank you VERY MUCH for this video. You are awesome Mexico. I wanted to add that there are 2 screws that come out from the inside where the cubby slide out drawer is. One for the drive side and one for the passenger. I removed only the LEFT (Driver Side) ribbon cable. I now have no ac driver temp control and no way to turn radio off. The right DUAL botton and MAX AC buttons still work. The dealers charge 900.00 for the FCIM as a reman and you send the old one back and get 500.00 core.

I just took the FCIM off a 2014 Lincoln MKS like this one today. It was no easy task. However its off and I'm now deciding whether to get FICM repaired using eBAY or just dismantle the button. Either way, you saved me even more time and frustration by knowing what to do. Thanks.

Great job & thank you dear Pecina Just an advice to save you all money next time you have FCIM problems Disconnect both ribbon cables from the back of the Capacitive Buttons board & use the top LCD screen to do all your control jobs I did it & works just fine

Dealer wants $1000 for the FCIM. I never used the controls down there and used the touch screen only. My temperature would increase to MAX setting. It's a common problem that Ford won't fix. My solution was to take the FCIM apart and remove the two ribbon cables and reinstall it. I have full function of all my controls through the touchscreen and no more issues.

Similar problem with my 2014 MKZ Hybrid. However, mine only randomly increases/decreases/turns on by itself. No actual temperature change, thank God. Might look for this FCIM, and see if I can fix the problem myself. Two Chicago-area Lincoln dealer-service depts have told me they can't diagnose it unless it occurs in front of the tech. Haven't been able to get it to occur when in the shop. LOL! Thanks again. Hope I can fix it; just about ready to shop around for another car if this continues. Otherwise, mid-luxury GREAT car!

I have a 2013 MKS, my button was doing the same. No joke, I gave the heat up button a mild punch, and it stopped instantly. The heat+ button no longer works at all anymore, but whatever, I can turn the heat on through the screen. Try it.

Muy buen video, lastima q no es el mismo problema q estoy teniendo con mi Lincoln MKT ya que el motor agarra su temperatura como debe, pero tarda mucho en tirar aire caliente y en ocasiones de plano no tira aire caliente a pesar de q el motor está trabajando a la temperatura de operación. Qué me aconseja hacer antes q prenderle un cerillo?😅

Thank you for posting this video. I used this in conjunction with ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wmGctWdSKAo.html by chris2401 and finally slayed the dragon that was that freaking temperature up button going off on it's own. I had a temporary fix where I zapped the temperature up button with a hit of compressed air turned upside down effectively super chilling the button and temporarily stopping the out of control button. Lately though, this treatment was becoming less and less effective. Tonight I used your video to pull the FCIM and remove the micro relay connected to that button. I reinstalled the now modified FCIM and buttoned everything back up. I did my happy dance once I got finished with a complete function check. Everything still works except that button which is exactly what I was going for. I do have to say that taking off all those panels and mouldings was a real pain in the asterisk. But, I wouldn't have had a clue where to start without your video. Thanks again.

Don't waste your time and money replacing FCIM. Simply go into settings and do a system reset. Avoid starting car with remote.

Would y’all advise against a 2013-2016 MKS ??? …I have wanted one for years now. I have been warned against the 3.5 ‘EcoBoost’ and I was told the naturally aspirated 3.7 is more reliable. I just know if I do get one that I want an Elite… so it has the wood grain panels… also a cappuccino interior. I have seen some that have more wood than others, like wood where the light switches are whereas other Elite models just have wood on the doors and console 🤔

I’m having the same problem on my 2013 Mkt, but my AC doesn’t blow cold air at all even if I put it on low. Some people think it’s a sensor, but the heat will turn on and increase by itself. Any ideas?

I have the same problem on mks so I just use the touch screen for everything the only problem I have is the radio cuts on on its own and drains my battery

I know this is 7 months old but I'm curious as to if this was plug and play. Did the new controller you got work right off the bat or did you have to take it to the dealer and have it programmed? I am having the same problem and the part is discontinued and back ordered from the re-builder indefinitely so I am looking at salvage units.

I ordered a replacement part for mine and verified by vin that it would fit my car but it looks completely different than the fcim I took out of my car. Anyway you could get ahold of me so I could send you photos to see if I have the correct replacement part and see if I took the right part out of my car since it didn’t show the actual replacement in your video?

This is why they aren't having great car sales to where they've had to get rid of the cars....they've been making them so scatty lately to get people to buy other cars within a time frame. Toyota and certain Lexus vehicles are the better car becasue most of the engineering it the same covered in a cheap exterior
