Climate change is why I left North Carolina and moved to Arizona. Not because of my livelyhood being threatened but because of my health. I lived in the North Carolina mountains and it seemed every year the high dew points and humidity got worse and lasted longer. 20,30 years ago summer with uncomfortably high dew points would only last from about the second week in June until the second week in September. When I left in the second week of October the temp was 85 and the dew point was 68. I consider dew points in the 60-low 70's uncomfortable. Almost everyday of the last summer I was there had dew points in the upper 60's to low 70's and temps from 70's at night to upper 80's to low 90' s during the day. Extremely uncomfortable. We're talking South Florida type weather from May to October in the mountains of NC! If you wanted to walk outside after 4 or 5 blocks your shirt would be wringing wet. It was getting so bad it was affecting my health. Even at higher elevations say 5000ft it was only slightly better. So if you don't like sticky humid weather I don't recommend moving there or anywhere east of western Nebraska.
Amazing that the president of Kiribati purchased 5000 acres of land for his people, and the Fiji prime minister had such hospitality. Imagine US leaders doing that, no way.
Some guilty 1st world country that isn't too ignorant to deny climate change, needs to offer these folks a new start. Norway Finland or Sweden. Not my ignorant country tis of thee of course never happen I guess.
Climate change is real and it is important to accept otherwise it will catastrophic. In East Africa we have experienced what we have never seen and our grandparents cannot remember in their life time such changes. Now, with development agenda that is not guided in most the developing countries and the pressure of the global population. These leads to climate refugees. At least we are witnessing this in East Africa
The Kench studies show that Kirabati is increasing in size. Shifting ocean currents, not sea level rise, is eroding away some areas. Others are growing as storms and currents deposit coral debris.
I feel sorry for the people who lost their homes. Climate is changing it always has, but it has very little to do with CO2. It is the solar activity that drives the climate.
I assume you're a Yank. No one else is that stupid. Do the world a favour, get a heroin habit like the rest of your backward country, might keep you a bit calmer
