Thank you JE Wilds for this video. I haven’t been hunting in over 30 years. I really miss the outdoors but life just got in the way for this old disabled veteran. After 44 years of suffering PTSD and other serious physical injuries, I finally reached out for help and am getting better now. At my age and with so many personal and financial obligations, I may never get into the woods again. It’s good to see that there are young men and women who are embracing life and actually living it. Mine is basically gone but I am on the sidelines cheering all of you on!

@odadfdop Not sure where you are located, but if in the US, the Wounded Warrior Project helps vets like you get out there. Think of it as a cabin pressure issue. Sometimes you have to put on your own oxygen mask before you can help others. Be well.

My real name is Michael McCluskey. I'm not a hunter by nature, but back in the late 1970's when I lived out in the country I did hunt squirrels and rabbits for meat. A few 22 cal bullets were cheaper than a few pounds of meat at the grocery store.

Then comes the "fun" part: packing out the prize. A hat-rack for the lobby, a rug for the kid's room, fillet, chuck, cheek. Venison pie, venison stew, venison mince on toast.....venison "leftovers" for the dogs..... As for the "produce" part; an animal cleanly shot whilst casually standing around is not going to be in a "stressed" condition, unlike cattle and sheep at a slaughterhouse. Finally, whether you fill the freezer or not, a walk in the woods is good for the soul.

I love to hunt when I was 12, till 20 I had hunted more than 30 deers, forgotten numbers of wild boars, flying squirrels, birds and many more but now I have changed, because in my area there's still hope for better bio diversity, we still have plenty of wildlife and our society began to teach about the wildlife protection and preservation. So my request to the viewers, SAY NOT TO HUNT, ANIMALS TOO DESERVES TO LIVE FREELY, Save animals, save nature.🙏🙏

Great Video and filming. From a Yank to a Kiwi... tree stands work. Interesting that you camped on a game trail. That would have been a great spot for a tree stand, and sit/wait for the deer to roll through. We usually get set in on a stand 1-2 hrs before daylight because of the nocturnal feeding patterns of deer. And Bucks/Stags usually bed down in the AM during the rut. Definitely need a safety harness and tree hooks to hang gear and rifle. Don’t need a fall and accidentally have the gun go off. At any rate... great job!

I drew rifle for bull first time in my life as I have always drawn bow .A blizzard surprised me and I guess everyone else besides me knew it was coming.Everyone packed up and left and when I woke up to two foot of snow I had the mountains all to myself .I found 5 bulls bedded in clearing up near top of mountain and picked the biggest a 7x7 and shot it at 1300 yards from bottom to top of mountain . 1 shot and down for the count ! Took me 3 days to quarter it and debone meat and pack it down by myself.Snow lasted perfect and was beginning to melt by 3rd afternoon :)
