Great work. Videos like these make me want to climb stuff so bad and the views would be amazing. I just bought my first m43 camera and im wondering what camera did you use, some sort of olympus with a 14-42 kit lens?
I’ve been to this plant 3 times now but I’ve never climbed the tower before. I kinda want to climb it at night and spend the night up there lol! Imagine the morning view! It might be hard not getting caught though because of the guys that just got arrested for jumping of the tower and paragliding
Me and my friends are going there in a couple weeks, what’s everything we need to know about evading security? Like the time of day and what day works best in general?
@@jacksonbontrager7096 the last time I went was last fall. Summer is a good time because the tree cover helps you out. I would recommend having someone drop you off because parking gets complicated and risky. The last time we left, we were leaving and about to drive away when the Game Warden came over to talk to us. He was chill though and he technically couldn’t arrest us because he wasn’t an officer. But if you have to park, then I know a good spot. The trees will hide you from any cars passing by, but the terrain was a little bumpy. It was kinda difficult for my Dodge Caravan lol! You have to walk through the woods for awhile(10-15 min) to get to where you can enter the power plant. There should be a hole in the chain link fence. It’s kinda hard to explain without visuals but I could probably make a map of where to go if you would want that. I’m not sure, but there might be more security after the parachuters got arrested there, but as long as you’re careful, you can avoid being seen. Good luck, this was the coolest place I ever explored and me and my friends made so many great memories!
@@jacksonbontrager7096 oh yea and the best time of day is basically as early as you can. We’ve never been able to get there before the sun rises, but we were still fine. It’s just less risky if you get there at dawn. Also bring a lot of water, it gets really hot there this time of year. On the plus side though, there are a ton of wild blackberries in and around the power plant
You guys are young, how do you get to these amazing places and afford the gear, I don’t know where to get good gear let alone find good spots, it’s so hard to start doing stuff like this, where do you find the time to do it, I’m so pissed I’m not doing this stuff, and even more pissed I don’t know how or where
Did you ever consider that you haven't done ANYTHING of importance? You didn't BUILD it. There were MEN before you that put that all up, lifted those ladders into place, BUILT them, and welded and bolted them into place, very likely in MUCH worse weather than you had that day, either hot, cold, windy, wet, sleet or whatever else.
I kinda wanna go but I dont wanna drive 3 hours to get there really, really want to climb it right at sunset and take pictures, climbing trees is getting boring for me lol
I wanna climb it to just went a week ago, 6 hr drive for me but we explored the entire place but never got around to climbing it, it wasn’t the fear of heights it was the fear of being seen by somebody and they call the law or some crap. Maybe come back and do it at night time? That’s the only solution I could come up with to climb it and not get seen. Can’t believe people climb this just in the daylight there’s warehouses and stuff around this place.
@TriableChain552 it's tva property too, so if you get caught it's not like you were just exploring an abandoned building How was getting to it? I figure park a mile or two away and hike the rest?
so me and my friend had to park at a church in a town called hartsville. It was about 4 to 5 miles to the plant but we brought bikes so we decreased the time to get there by a lot. It was just slightly over an hour bike ride to the plant. I’ve heard of people doing 3 to 4 hr walks to plant. You could park at a warehouse that’s a mile from the plant but I wouldn’t recommend it since it’s not a store and u don’t work there so people inside may question who’s car that is. It’s definitely worth it though I got some really cool pics, and the place is massive it took me and my friend 3 to 4 hrs to explore the entire place it was awesome. I do wanna climb the tower though but it will most likely have to be at night time idk and I’ll have to find somebody that will wanna go with me.
@TriableChain552 I'm down to go climb it, drop a comment on one of my videos and I'll send you my number and we can plan something I'll delete the comment once I get a text back, don't really like it being public lmao
I’m assuming this is the tower that they climbed en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hartsville_Nuclear_Plant#:~:text=The%20Hartsville%20Nuclear%20Plant%20is,General%20Electric%20boiling%20water%20reactors.&text=Trousdale%20County%2C%20Tennessee%20near%20Harsville%2C%20U.S.
