Climbing Mount Stuart | Cascadian Couloir Route 4K

We climbed Mount Stuart over Labor Day weekend. Mount Stuart is the 7th tallest mountain in Washington. Mount Stuart stands at 9,415 ft tall and offers incredible views of the Cascade mountain range.
We left the Esmeralda Trailhead around 4:45am and climbed ~2,000ft to Longs Pass where we caught a beautiful sunrise and got our first views of Mount Stuart. Next, we descended about 1,400 ft to Ingalls Creek and found the Cascadian Couloir which eventually leads up to the summit of Mount Stuart.
The Cascadian Couloir is a rocky gully that leads to an opening at ~8,600 ft where we then turned NW and headed towards the false summit. Once we crested the ridge of the false summit, we could see the summit pyramid of Mount Stuart. From here, it was a class 2-3 scramble over to the summit.

Great video! I summited on Wed and hiked up over Long's pass under a full moon Tues night lighting up Stuart was so cool got a great photo. OMG so funny the keyhole! I couldn't fit either and was like good grief so walked down around it then up that ridge to the chimney below the summit block. Amazing up there indeed cheers!

Oh my it was spectacular ar the pass i have a great pic but not sure how to share if you’re interested. You guys def do some cool stuff. Larch season almost here!

Congrats! Fun climb (and great video). We did it about a month ahead of you and there was still some snow in various places, especially right before the false summit. Our summit day was quite cold, rainy and we had no views as we were in a cloud! But this looks pretty ideal.

Great video. I just climbed Mount Stuart on 9/19/24 and I may have used a different climber's path. I used the far west or left one from base camp which took you further up the mountain before joining the couloir.

Beautiful video, thank you. I climbed Sherpa Peak in 1974 over a fair amount of the same terrain. I certainly recall how tiring it was to have to climb back up to the pass on the way out. At the time being 16 I thought it would be "easy" to get Stuart the same day. Wrong. I wonder if I could have done all that in 11 hours then, our trip was in a more sedate 2 days with the mountaineers.

Hey whats the name of the big obvious path to the left, if youre looking at Stuart from the base, like the path just before Cascadian, it goes straight up? I wonder what that path is like

I believe you’re talking about Ulrich’s Coulior. Don’t know a ton about it but I believe it’s a common skier’s route.
