We didn't have drones , in the 70s when I first Ridge Walked this lovely place. Thanks for such definitive video of being in another place . I was up there in the Snow storm in winter 1977- 78. Without ropes I came unglued but froze against the rock... so I could tell this near fall story today... 2024. Go there if you need a Spiritual infusion...

I have been to the deck many of times... my fear of heights would not allow me to go to the Ridgeline. In fact going to Yellowstone national park from the east entrance.... driving through the valley was a freaky experience for me as well. I'm sure you found out that there is no cell phone service there... although you can rent satellite phones for emergencies near by.

definitely no cell service haha. But yeah we definitely enjoyed being able to go out to the ridgeline but we were trying to be extra cautious and aware when out there

this is awesome.. so one can tackle these without the need for a guide or say a guided tour? also, do you need any permissions to hike here?

absolutely, no tour needed. if you want to climb technical routes 5.0 and up I would get a guide (unless you have experience and equipment) but no permit or guide needed to do this hike and going on the ridgeline is at your own risk

Nice capture on vertical rocks using the drone. Scary looking shots, awesome drama. However the GoPro video in the first half was really challenged, looks like 480 resolution. Keep up the good work, you've had some nice adventures.

Thanks for the tips! I am glad you liked the drone shots, they were my favorite. And yeah I noticed that too- super annoying but we were in such a rush racing the clock we were switching in between the gopro hero 8 and a few iphone 11 clips just to fill the story. But agree 100% with ya

Seneca Rocks is a unique hiking exhibit that is definitely worth doing for any avid hiker. The climb up to the top is not that exhausting, but the risk when scaling the rocks is what makes it unique. Challenge: Try to walk all the way across the top of the rocks without climbing gear. Most people either stop at the sign or a few paces after the beginning of the crags.

It is such a unique place. I love the challenge but also people have to be safe and know their limits, not worth falling. We didn’t go to far

@@KevinEassa I wasn't serious about that part. The notches on the top of the rocks are very difficult to climb through without safety equipment.

Wow, that was poor judgment. You didn't have any climbing gear, not even a flashlight. You two got away with something. Be safe :)

Typically not how we do it, we like to over prepare. But sometimes it happens, we were okay pushing it just because this is such a short hike. But not our typical prep!
