Awsome video I've used this before but everytime I'm not sure if my rope will get stuck, I normally just climb up and change lines lol but its a good trick and it saves energy. I'll need to try it out again 👍🏿
I know this is an old video and most people are using redirects with SRT systems now but being from the southeast of the US I find it much more efficient and effective to set multiple climbing lines at the highest point of a wide spread out tree, like a Live Oak or Camphor tree. I have had as many as 5 different lines set in a single tree to access the tips for moss removal or crown reduction. Pollarding does not work well with most trees in my area but weight reduction on the tips is very important here.
hey there i love all your videos i also climb for a living just wanna say you have a great ideal there, me personally i like to work the whole tree from top to bottom when pruning unless it is very spread out i think your i deal is great and works but wouldnt you have to go back up anyways to work the 2nd side of the tree? i just think its faster to prune in layers i guess you could say! but hey great video keep em coming!!!
Hi Dan! Good video. I see that you don't use any cambium saver so I'm interested is it not damaging the rope and the tree also when you are pulling you Hitch-climber system? I mean when the tree is not smooth. Thanks
