Sam and I set off on the hardest climb either of us have attempted: The Direct Beckey on the Elephants Perch. Arguably the most classic line on the perch, this climb shoots straight up over a 1000' from the middle of the wall.
After immediately falling on the first 5.11 pitch, do we succeed in free climbing to the top? Do I fall on beckey's 60 year old rusty bolts? Is the Beckey Tree the best tree in the world? Is climbing hard?
