If you're a Geologist, or something related* -you'll learn some fascinating things; The Australasian continent is relatively flat in this epoch, however, if you go back far enough, & look at the right data; The evidence is there for sections of it's mountain ranges, to be amongst the highest (if not THE highest), to have existed -ever! 😮 For now at least; as the detailed picture is always slowly evolving... 😊 Cheers *There's many experts in those fields, as mining's HUGE here! (which is good -but also sucks hard) 😢
Mt Cook in Austrailia is 12,218 feet above sea level so put that on your bucket list as it could be considered as a highest continental peak. According to the Bible the earth and all creation is about 6,200 years old and I believe that no matter what geologists claim w their Big Bang creation and evolutionary delusional theories.
Eli, you are an international goodwill ambassador. Your travelogues always shine a positive light on your destinations. Thank you! Enjoy the Vegemite & visit us again. 🐨
@@Dan8254 Don't believe me, just look at her early videos (I'm reluctant to say this as she will likely take them down). She has a telling interview with a "journalist", some training with the Russian special forces, etc. Her idea of "helping" was to do work for refugees - but only the Russian refugees from Luhansk. She doesn't say much about her defense of Putin and anti-gay laws because it will hurt her audience, but she's a very solid pro Putin girl.
@@Dan8254even if she is, so what? She's obviously doing way more for everyone than you and any other negative commenter on RU-vid all together! She's doing the things that the big corporate TV stations and or channels should be doing!!!! All big corporate TV stations and or channels are doing, is feeding you with BullShit!!! Bullshit all over, regardless of who you watch CNN (left wing) or Fox news (right wing). So why won't you get your head out of your ass?!?! Why would anyone make a negative light if you want people to enjoy what you do and inspire others??? She would only have followers like me who have depression and want to keel themselves all the time. It would inspire us for places to end it all. 🤣🤣 Now look what you've done... you made me laugh. Now I want to live. 😭😭😭😭I h@te you. 😠😠😠😠🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😃😃
Eli, You are the first person I’ve heard of that bothered to climb that hill, no Aussie would even consider it as worth climbing or even seeing. You are someone worth watching so as to see all those things that I’ve overlooked.
My then girlfriend and I hike up Mt. Kosciuszko in the early 80s from Charlotte's Pass. It was February and we wore T-shirts and shorts. It was certainly no Mt. Kilimanjaro but when we got there we still felt like we were on top of the world. I'm very happy that you are enjoying your time in Australia. Glad to see those kids at the top didn't say anything nasty about Russia. They seemed especially polite. If I ever do it again, I'll be wearing a Marmite cap!
Really cool that you decided to walk the trails rather than take the easy way. See the nature instead of passing over it. I've done the same walk, in summer, many moons ago.
Eli, you are an extraordinary woman. I am an old woman from Sweden, 75 years old, mother of three wonderful daughters, five grandchildren, divorced since more than 3o years, not retired, still work, coz I don’t feel I have used my skills . Speak English fluently and German and Italian and the last two years I have studied Spanish. Follow your every vlog and get envious of you. You have a very exciting life. Go on with it as long as you can, but everyone gets old and some time it comes to an end. You Will have to settle down some time, but that time is so far off in the future so don’t give it a thought an keep on what you are doing. Love Learning from your videos. Gunilla
Eli, you make excellent vlogs of the places you visit, they are all such a treat to watch. I am glad you are enjoying your visit to Australia and having fun! Best wishes!
Thanks so much for taking us along on your wonderful adventure ! Kudos for not allowing the closed sign to ruin your plan. I always enjoy seeing you, and hearing your lovely voice.
@Alex Alex That's because we're our own very unique thing -- but still, people are reminded of Europe by our many old-worldy villages, forests, and agricultural rolling hills (like in the Northwest), as well as being very mountainous (which many European émigrés appreciated).
Eli, it's great to see you experiencing a wide cross section of our great country. I've often wondered how we are seen by international visitors. Your excellent cinematography is as good as it gets. Maybe we shouldn't tell everyone about the wonderful freedoms and climate we enjoy all year round. Thank you for your stories.
Awesome Eli, the Australian High Country is amazing, but you should Definitely also visit Cradle Mountain in Tasmania, that is truly stunning. But don't hike there alone, as the weather is extremely volatile, and blizzards can occur, out of nowhere, even in the summer time. Looking forward to seeing your next awesome adventure, good on ya mate👍😎👍.
I've never been to Mount Kosciusko so it was interesting to see your walk up and down the entire mountain. True, it's a small mountain by international standards but it so beautiful! It was interesting to hear your conversation with people young and old on the mountain with you.I like Vegemite too! an acquired taste I think. Your videos are interesting, wide ranging and informative Eli. I hope we see more of your work from inside and outside of Russia. All the best!. John lampe from sunny Perth, Australia.
You're a fantastic host Eli. Yah, we already knew that. But it shines especially in a video about a country you didn't know much about. Very endearing. Great stuff.
Hi Eli, another hiking challenge when you're in Australia. Go to Tasmania and climb Frenchmans Cap or the more difficult Federation Peak. FP is the hardest hike up a mountain in Australia. You are very beautiful inside and out. Love your snowy Russian videos.
This mountain was named after the Polish/Byelorussian/Lithuanian national hero, Tadeusz Kościuszko. He fought in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth's struggles against Russia and Prussia. He led the 1794 Kościuszko Uprising.
It's very beautiful and ginger. In Sydney, in your video. Hope you are having fun on your trip, around the Eastern hemisphere. Sorry if you are offended by me calling you a ginger instead of red head. My son Malachi has the same color hair and he completely dislikes being called a red head.
Hmm, should I question a Russian and a Chinese wandering around our capital? Hehe, nah, pretty normal. I hope you enjoyed Canberra and the snowy mountains. You’ll love Melbourne, very similar to Sydney.
A lot of those scenic vegetation shots may have been done in a hurry, but they looked like elaborate vistas that took a long time to set up. Exceptionally professional artistry was the result. If you put a chopstick on each side of your middle finger and then work the leverage, you might find it easier to eat the Oriental way. Don't feel bad about bungling with the method--- I met a Korean lady who was about 45 and still didn't know how to eat with chopsticks. Kosciuszko was a big hero in the American Revolution, valued highly by George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both. His engineering genius with fortifications at the Battle of Saratoga in 1777 helped turn the whole war in favor of the colonists, and his foundational work at West Point gave the U.S. Army a place that trains officers to this day.
Seems like you are really enjoying Australia. You are brave for taking the trail alone. Thanks for sharing your adventure and please stay safe. Take care and enjoy.
@@ElifromRussia Please be careful wandering off trails in Australia. Sticking to the trail is okay, but please be safe. Many people wander off and are lost each year in our national parks. Do not rely on mobile telephone. It covers only small portion of the country.
Eli, I am so pleased to see your videos and you produce them so well. Australia, a beautiful country and you stood on the tippy top of it!! Great, thanks.
ah I'm happy but also so sad to see you were in Canberra. I would have loved to have met and showed you around and as a Canberran blue-eyed redhead :) ... we are very rare species across the world! :) ... There is a small new area of the broader city area where Chinese people tend to congregate; it seems you were there. The majority population are Australians, though about 1/4 are new migrants who arrived in past 10 years ... I loved the footage of Jindabyne and Mt Kosci. The trees around there, in the Snowy Mountains, are unique. It all reminded me of treasured childhood memories; ski holiday trips with family
Thank you Eli for this series on Australia . You have shown Australia the way it really is in ever way . If you come to Melbourne Victoria and you have time I have my only RU-vid channel where I talk about my passion the Agile Antechinus and Antechinus general , hiking adventures, wildlife adventures and camera stuff . I would be happy to show you the Agile Antechinus in its natural environment and show you around my office which is a small reserve in the Dandenong ranges . Cheers Derek
My great uncle, older brother of my paternal grandfather emigrated from UK to Aus in the late 19th century and married the daughter of an ex deportee (criminal), who claimed he was a doctor. It turned out he was prisoner on a ship from England and then when he finished his prison sentence in Tasmania, he studied medicine. He actually became a doctor in NSW and had family out there. Sadly no direct relations now in Aus, but I have my son-in-law's brother and the descendant of the "criminal", who I have met also and is a lovely Aussie. A cousin-in-law as we call ourselves. I can see the draw they got seeing this from your travels.
Thank you for the interseting videos about Australia. Greetings from Bulgaria. Congratulations on climbing three mountain peaks. I have read a lot about Australia and have seen videos. Allow me to add my comments on this State and Continent. You live very far from Europe, America, Asia. You cannot make an excursion, because there are dangers everywhere: snakes crocodiles, scorpions, and in the sea - dangerous jelly-fish. I have recently seen videos of the American Gabriel Traveller about Australia. He showed the town of Cairns in Queensland. He was careful about crocodiles when he went to the beaches and he read warnings about crocodiles. The beaches were empty, maybe it was not the high season, and I saw net enclosure in the see and on the sand against crocodiles. Two men from Bulgaria shared the following: A snake entered the washing machine in his home. The other man shared that he found big cock-roaches in the kitchen of his appartment in Sydney.
I once had a deadly snake crawl across my feet when I was pealing potatoes over a kitchen sink in Carnarvon Western Australia. I was pushed off by my brother the wharf in the Northern Territory where we saw sharks and its riddled with crocodiles, I've never swam so fast Australia is definitely an adventure, but don't be scared, its generally a very safe place.
I wouldn’t go listening too much to you tube videos saying how dangerous Australia is. We don’t have bears, large cats, wolves etc. almost every country in the world has snakes and spiders and the oceans of the world all contain sharks. Crocs are only in the very top of Australia. Our cities really don’t have any dangerous critters like any other big cities around the world. Relax, did Eli get eaten by anything? She didn’t even see anything except some parrots. That’s what most of Australia is like.
You mean Australia being a continent and renound for amazing wildlife, deserts, rainforrests, giant trees, tropical islands, the worlds oldest jungle/rainforrest, the great barrier reef and ningaloo on the west coast, the worlds oldest landscapes etc... Australia is far more than just beaches.
There are more impressive mountains in Australia that aren't as high (mount feathertop) but in winter the snowies comes to it's own as a winter wonderland, we actually get more snow here in the alps than Switzerland.
I am so glad that you are enjoying my country Eli. I only wish that I could catch up with you when you reach Melbourne (my city) but I am sure that you already have many friends here. Happy travels Eli.
I’m glad you are enjoying our beautiful country and sharing it with your subscribers. I hope that you are taking advantage of our news media daily to see what your government is doing in Eastern Europe since you will never see the terrible reality when you return to Russia. Please share this information when you return home!
Its a made path because the alpine environment is fragile and a lot of people traffic use it. Can suddenly snow or get quite cold before November. Glad you have fun in our country.
You're a star . . . what a statement on Russia vs the West (sorry, had to say it) Russian walk up mountain without breaking a sweat in sneakers while Australian wearing a mask takes a cable car. Hope if you do any mountain climbing in Canada, will challenge you. Cheers.
I don't understand how you can hike up a thing like that without apparently even breaking a sweat. You must be super fit. I know it's not one of the sevens. But if you ever make it to the USA I think you'd have a great time hiking up Mt. Whitney.
You know Eli, what is the capital of Australia was a question on a US TV game show ? Do you know a majority of people thought Sydney was the capital. I was shocked that so many people are ignorant, even in the age of the internet. Travel definitely opens your mind and makes you very knowledgeable about your surroundings.
Puncak Jaya is VERY hard to get to. It is in a remote part of a very politically sensitive province. The Indonesian governement don’t want foreigners there. You could possibly get there as part of a well organised climbing expedition with lots of permits.
And Kiwiland is much more tourist friendly and less abrasive .You won’t get better tucker, and fresh, than NZ.Try our Fish and Chips. And a proper restaurant meal in NZ.
I remember going to Jindabyne and Thredbo as a school kid way back in 1970. Very pleased you got out in some of our Australian bush of what we call the high country.
If you ever get to Scotland, I'd suggest the Quiraing on the Isle of Skye. There's spectacular views and challenging hiking, but I won't be like climbing a big mountain.
You can travel to the Cocos keeling Islands Australian territory without documents as it’s part of state of western Aus you’re already in the Country under a visa.
Good on you Eli. I love how you pronounced Melbourne correctly.Bravo! I did the Kosciusko walk in April.I caught the chair lift from Thredbo to the start of the trail. One major bit of advice, make sure you have well fitting comfortable shoes. The first lookout about 20 minutes in was where I was considering turning back,as the shoes were abrading my heel and I was in a lot of pain.I grit my teeth and kept going until the lookout with the toilets and a sign saying another 40 min ,one way to the top. That's where thepain was too much and I turned back.At age 56 I'm very strong and fit,but boy is the walk hard.To add insult to injury, the car park was over a kilometre from the chairlift. My heel was in agony and my hips were frozen solid. But just for the scenery alone it was worth it. All up there was 4 hours of walking, mostly up hill, so definitely not an easy stroll. My friend started the hike from the Perisher side and he said it is not as hard. So I plan at Christmas to do the walk again, but from Perisher, and hopefully complete the final section.I have since bought Saguaro Barefoot shoes so my feet should have no complaint. P,S. The day after I went and did the Yarrangobilly River walk, in thongs, as my heel was an open wound. The final 1/2 hour of that walk was pure torture.A long, constant .steep uphill walk from the Thermal Pool.
Eli, thanks for visiting my part of the world (I live in Canberra). In 1974, I drove an ordinary car to the top of Mt Kosciuszko. Later, the government tore up the road, to make it more of a challenge to climb to the top. The matting you walked on is used to preserve the soil and vegetation of the area.
I really enjoy your videos, mate! You're always taking us on new adventures to see parts of the world most of us will never see. I'm so impressed with your ability to make friends with so many different people all over the world. You're a one woman United Nations.
How awesome! I guess I was expecting something else when you said you're going to the top of the highest mountain, lol. Not that, and with school kids. Still pretty cool. Great scenery!
I don't know much about Australia but this song is brilliant: Men At Work - Down Under ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XfR9iY5y94s.html It was also a hit in Finland and a #Russian man made his cover of the Finnish version: Tervetuloa Länteen Sergei (Vilperin Perikunta cover) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fZXF1DA1Z-E.html
Having seen that part of Australia only in winter time, it was fascinating to see what it looked like in the summer. I can't believe you filmed this so long ago. Those kids were so excited to see someone from Russia
