OMG not for a second did I think the gate would be open and you could actually go inside! I can’t think of many places like that in Scotland, fantastic! Never heard of it before :)
I may have been secretly hoping the gate would be closed given the steepness of the stairs - but I am delighted I was able to go up and get the shots! 😀
I climbed this about 30 years ago on a school trip. I remember there being a step missing and a few of us tripping and scraping our knees. Obviously because of crazy health and safety no school would do this as a trip! Find memories though!

Thanks Alister - I'm usually okay with heights as long as I have something "solid" below me (so I wouldn't be good on a rope bridge) - but coming down those spiral stairs was harrowing!
