Pretty sure Egypt had chariots which had wheels. They just didn't have the material science to build wheels and axles that would be useful under that kind of weight (my best speculation) Sleds or log rollers would be more useful as they 1) can actually bear the weight 2) spread out the ground pressure and don't just sink immediately into the sand. Also on a less related note the ancient Egypt were pretty crafty with their application of simple machines. Look into how they raised obelisk with guide ropes a fulcrum and removing sand beneath the base to pull the monuments vertical. It's pretty neat
