@@cagneybillingsley2165 If I can shoot six rounds from my 686 into an IDPA “0” zone at 15 yards in 1.2 seconds, and it takes me 2.5 seconds with my PDP to do the same thing, which is better for me?
This is the difference between old guy’s that know how to fight with a gun and those who just know how to shoot a gun! I love everything that a certain old guy has done for the world of shooting and firearms instruction but, telling people that you’re stupid in you carry appendix and you don’t need a weapon light on your carry gun if you’re not in law enforcement is just setting people up for failure and not keeping with the times! That’s why there’s no one like Clint! If you can’t make it out to learn from him in person, find any of his content and soak it up like a sponge! It will save your life one day🤙🏽
Yes sir I'll take a Smith & Wesson revolver or a revolver of any guns over a semi-automatic to me that fire better come on they handle better, and in my personal opinion especially as a Vaquero they're the best type of firearm is
You'd have to redesign the cylinders/extractor taurus actually has a 9mm 5 or 6 shot revolver I don't shoot revolvers because I can't shoot one accurately but semi pistols awesome different strokes for different folks
@@dylanblake6591 That’s the problem, in my region .357 magnum is not as available as .38spl. It doesn’t matter to me though, I cast my own bullets and reload my .38 and .357.
I am young and I have always preferred revolvers. Service revolvers at that (Colt or S&W). Not that I dislike semi autos, but 75% of the time I’m shooting or carrying a revolver. And, yes, I can handle speedloaders, dump pouches and even cartridge loops pretty fast
I think the only problem with the revolver is that you can get comparable power out of a semi auto these days, and semi autos carry 3x as many rounds usually. That said I do own and sometimes carry a revolver, a revolver was my first carry gun and I even have a revolver tatted on my chest (An S&W 65-7 if anyone is wondering). However, outside of prolonged gunfights, I think revolvers have a distinct advantage in close quarters self defense encounters, and the fact you just look cool as f*ck carrying one.
Whether or not one can get "comparable power" out of a semi-auto round these days is very dependent on what caliber you are talking about. Many revolver calibers readily exceed the average semi-auto caliber, and revolvers can run a much wider spectrum of power, from light to heavy, than a comparable semi-auto can.
@woodrowcall3158 Train enough and you won't have a problem. Same goes for a revolver too. I used a semi auto double/single for quite a while and I haven't had any issues with it.
It’s the sights that throw off modern shooters in my opinion. Gutter sights and a ramp is not modern whatsoever. If every j-frame, lcr, k-frame, n-frame, and any other model came with tritium sights and a way to mount a dot, a lot more people would be interested.
Seriously? Many revolvers come with good sights these days, incl. hi-viz/tritium night sights, dove-tailed, replaceable sights. When was the last time you looked at a modern revolver?
To say that revolvers are better is pretty ignorant. You’re out of town and somebody breaks in. You want your wife who is defending herself and your kids to have 6 rounds or 15? Two speed loaders maybe 18 rounds total, or two more magazines of at least 15 rounds? You’re right that people need to train but that’s true with any weapon/ safety system. Maybe I’m just a fudd and easily bated into commenting lol. I still think revolvers are cool they just aren’t better. Same reason people still have muskets and lever guns. It’s because they’re awesome, not better.
NOBODY in this short or the long version of the video says revolvers are better. IF you had Listened to him he says if you're a Glock person then he's "not going to fix something that's not broken". That goes for ANY brand or type of gun. The important thing is to practice with whatever you feel comfortable with.
“Muzzle loading pistols aren’t slow to load they are slow for you to load, we defended ourselves with these for decades “ Modern magazine fed pistols are just better that revolvers come the fuck on
Not really better depending on your definition of better. 5-7 rds that the majority of cc revolvers carry and a couple of speed strips will handle 99.9 percent of defense considerations anyone apt to run into. They are a bit bulkier and take a little more practice to reload efficiently. If you think better is more bullets and faster reload then sure . My bedside gun is a semi because a home invasion is where you are most likely to need more ammo. My carry is most often a revolver.
Better for what? Revolvers are bot better than semi-autos, semi-autos are not better than revolvers. Determining what is best requires a couple of variables to measure against. For the role a handgun fills for me, a revolver is often the best.
Slow down and take a breath buddy. You’re obviously emotionally compromised by this topic. If/when you respond to this, proofread first, maybe have a friend check it and then post. It’s gonna be ok, I promise
