Blimey - how spooky is that?! Funnily enough I'm just reading " A Prison Diary : Volume 1" by Archer now about his Perjury conviction and subsequent jailing in Belmarsh. So prophetic (as you say) that he says "One develops convictions later on in one's life". Bizarre to see that now in hindsight....
This was a fascinating interview, because they clearly hate each other, and they get into exchanging insults and witticisms (which was sort of this show), and then they settle into a calmer exchange, about this story that presumably Archer took from someone.
Seemed like Archer was laughing at Clives retorts genuinely. Nice to see...don't think it was 100% adversarial. I miss Clive Anderson's quick wit....then again don't watch live TV anymore !
He was the same with the Bee Gees as he was with all his guests, they just couldn't take the jokes. You seem ok for him to be "insulting" with Jeffrey Archer and all his other guests but not The Bee Gees. Also, if the Bee Gees hadn't done a hissy fit and stormed off would you even have thought anything of the interview? I doubt it.
