Sandra Bernard is completely in control here and knows it just as he does. All you need to do is listen carefully to the conversation and watch the body language. His jokes are weak and she suffers his foolishness presumably only because an appearance on his show was a useful vehicle to promote her London show.
Is Anderson paying the audience to laugh at his lame jokes? This is what happens when an interviewer doesn't do his homework on the guest and tries to blag it using a series of smug one-liners. Cringeworthy.
realmusiklover The idea was that he 'talks back' to the guests and sort of takes the piss out of them. He's very witty but sometimes the guests gave as good as they got; as here. Try his interview with Jeffrey Archer (if you know who he is).
