Sir Clive Sinclair: Computing pioneer and inventor, who popularised the home computer and invented the pocket calculator, has died at his London home aged 81. He died yesterday and his birthday was last July. He had cancer for more than a decade.
Anyone remember the ZX Spectrum and C5 electric vehicle? I do.

I own some Sinclair calculators, and they are truly some of the most eye-catching electronics ever created. RIP Sir Clive - you will be deeply missed.

At 9 years old in the Christmas of 1983 I got my first computer, a Sinclair Spectrum 48k with rubber keyboard. It was magical at the time, loading up games to play on the TV. Thanks for the memories Sir Clive. R.I.P.

My first computer was as 16KB ZX Spectrum. Sir Clive was a legend.

My first computer at the time. Zx 48k, also modified it into a steel box with more responsive hard plastic keyboard and floppy drive, also had mini tape drive and mini printer that had special grey paper. I also typed long lines of code to make musical themes or colour effects. Still have the tape games. Have used the PC emulator to put the games as a file on the computer. The ZX 128 was also the best Spectrum with a hard keyboard and tape drive all part of the keyboard on the side. RIP SIR Sinclair

R.I.P. Sir Clive. My first computer, at 12, was a ZX81, and I had a Spectrum a few years latter. Today you should celebrate genius, of the level of Jobs or Musk. And show respect.

My whole home went silent after the hearing the news , sir clive was a man i look up to in life and he inspired me to start computer programming. The zx81 was my first computer that i owned and also learned about programming on .

Sir clive sinclair is the man who is the great inventet in last seven dicades.he invented the calculaters, computers and electric bikes and msny more. I sad for him death. May him attain nibbana

Yeah, there's no doubt whatsoever that the BBC Micro was a much better machine than the Spectrum. The genius of Sinclair, though, was creating incredible value for money. Only rich kids had BBC Micros at home. The Spectrum was affordable to working class families.
