He is exactly correct. The fed has no rule over man but the constitution doesn't control contracts. So they get you via contracts. Drivers license, social security, etc... Obviously there was no FULL DISCLOSURE when these contracts were signed and under their own UCC laws which the Federal Government (as a corporation) adheres to, these contracts are all nul & void. If there had been full disclosure at the time of signing not one of these ranchers would have signed on the dotted line!!

Water rights were transferred too, but only to the ranch, not the federally managed land surrounding it. Court records show Bundy family cattle didn't start grazing on that land until 1954. The Bureau of Land Management was created 1946, the same year Cliven was born. "My rights are before the BLM even existed, but my rights are created by beneficial use. Beneficial use means we created the forage and the water from the time the very first pioneers come here," Bundy said. "My rights are before the BLM even existed." Only true if you are VERY bad at math. This fight has been raging for 20 years, and the entire time Bundy has claimed that his family has been utilizing that land since 1877. That is a lie. Whether you agree with his position or not, the fact that he fudged his family history in order to create a certain western frontier mythology, should have people stepping back and reevaluating his motives.
So let's see what came out of all this... This guy has been arrested with numerous federal charges and will likely never see his ranch again... several of his sons have also been arrested... a man dies by suicide by cop... dozens of others have been hit with federal charges... the wildlife refuge is a mess and locals' economy is being affected by the illegal occupation... Meanwhile, federal land is still federal land... Hammonds are still in prison... the constitution still doesn't mean what these guys want it to mean... Seems like this didn't go as well as they had planned.
It comes down to money..millionaire ranchers want the land,to make money. Even though the land is not deeded to them.. at the same time, me,you or anyone else, couldn't go buy cows,and graze them on public lands. So why should the rancher's be able to profit from public lands ?

As to being "a product of (my) own generation," you seem to be of some mistaken impression that the Constitution changes from generation to generation. It doesn't. Bundy would have been wrong 229 years ago, just as he is wrong today.
Article II sec. 2 allows the federal government to enter into treaties. Article VI makes treaties the supreme law of the land. The land that the Bundys' cattle were trespassing on was acquired by the federal government by a treaty with Mexico. Article IV sec. 3 gives congress the power to regulate territory owned by the federal government. That is how the BLM is in fact constitutional. See also Kleppe v. New Mexico. With regards to article 1 sec. 8 clause 17, it in no way limits the amount of land that the federal government can own. It tells how the federal government can acquire land and extinguish stste law on the land. The land the Bundys' cattle were trespassing on still has state law applying so clause 17 is irrelevant.
