Please allow me to say that you are absolutely amazing. I've been playing ukulele for six months now, and it's my sincere desire to get somewhere near this good, knowing it's certainly going to be years down the road. At 57, let's hope I have enough gas in the tank. Your singing and playing are just spot on beautiful!

Your toturials make it so much fun to learn new songs. I can do the fingerpicking part and the chords + strumming. Now I'm trying very hard to sing and strum at the same time. Sometimes it works and then I get lost again, but I guess practise makes perfect :D

Hello Katie, I was just looking for interesting songs on your channel when I found THIS song. I love that song sooooo much and I'm really happy that the fingerpicking is so easy. Of course I have to practice and increase speed but if you know this song you already could recognize it. The strumming pattern will be more difficult for me... but I will practice until I can do it. One question is left: why are some of the fingerpicking notes written in red? Of course it will have a meaning but I think I didn't hear that you explained that and I can't figure it out by myself. The notes are good, its obviously well played but it sounds weird on a ukulele maybe it would sound better on a baritone yuku.

Love this song. Great tutorial. Katy (in case if helps) The chord charts in the in patreon has two small differences with the video. In the chorus and “apart of the cure”. I like the video version better.

With almost all your songs, my ukulele just doesn't sound the same. I'm playing on a 23-inch Enya Nova, it's my first Ukulele, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money...I'm hoping my ukulele choice isn't the problem...and perhaps it's the strings (as I know this was the only complaint people had about them) So frustrating!

Is it the tone or the pitch? If it’s the tone, that’s understandable. The uke that I’m playing in this video is made of solid mahogany with Aquila strings. Solid mahogany gets deeper in tone and pitch over time. The carbonfiber/plastic body of the nova u has a brighter tone. It also has a lot of projection 😀. I wouldn’t worry about your uke matching my tone because each uke is going to offer a different tone depending upon the materials and who made the uke. I have a buyer’s guide video that has lots of sound samples back to back. If you listen, you’ll hear the difference between all of them because they’re different sizes and made of different materials. One Music School thank you for your prompt reply! It is the tone, but also, my strings sound shaky and have a rattle to them, almost as if there’s a strange feedback. Not sure how to explain it, lol. I think once quarantine is over, I’ll replace the strings with a higher quality! Do you recommend the Aquila strings for my ukulele?

so, you bar the A & E string with your pointer on the fifth fret. then with your middle, you press down on the C string on the 6th fret. the pattern you pluck it for the strings is AEC, AEC, AE (move back two frets so you're pressing down on the 3rd and 4th fret) and pluck AEC, AEC, AE, AEC, AEC, AE (move to Em chord position) and then pluck AEC, AEC, AE (move back down to the first position.) You have to play the 3rd/4th fret pattern twice. hope this helps! I kind of had to listen to the song to get the fingerpicking part in the correct order haha. :)
