I loved the spherical version of this rotational force HLSL shader so much that today I thought I should create another similar force that works in a plane.
And man what a beauty this has become!
I could sit there for hours and just watch it on the 75" 4k monitor...
4 million particles in Tooll3 3.9.1 (dev branch of tooll.io ) run almost realtime in 4k on my laptop (RTX 3070 GPU).
Using random rotation per point and the secondary points around which the main pointcloud particles rotate are changing position randomly, which leads to those really interesting transformations.
The interpolation between closest and second closest points works pretty well too, although it's only distance-linear with a fixed threshold.
