Now that's a first. I've never seen a drainage entrance in the living room. Even if there in a kitchen over here they have to be air tight lids and fully capped & sealed underneath.

Foaming root killet works great at prevention once a month, 15.00. Use at night, flush it in ,flush again. If pipes are toast it might help, but dirt means hurt! =$$$$$$

I’m in the USA and all of our country’s plumbing (freshwater and sewage) is inside our homes. Why are many of the’ homes in Europe have the sewage drain pipeline outside running from the bathroom and kitchen drains to a “mannole”(we call them cache basins or man holes)? What happens when it becomes freezing outside? Wouldn’t the sewer pipes naturally freeze? How do they keep that running without having to call you just to unfreeze or thaw out the pipes? And why aren’t sewer lines running inside the house out to places you could easily work on? I have been curious since I started watching “The Drain Unblockers” on RU-vid? Thank you for your time and assistance! [ This was initially posted to a UK drain cleaning service but thought I'd ask you since you're in the business in the US.]
