Clogged Septic Tank

Showed up to a property I had inspected 2 years prior. The customer was backing up, and I found hints of grease and soap scum clogging the line. The scum layer was pretty solid as well, so I went ahead and pumped the system after clearing the clog.

Very nice professional job. Amazing how you know exactly where the lids are. The septic tank companies in this area are worthless, don't return phone calls, won't answer questions, just want to pump your tank, get that credit card info before they even talk to you about scheduling a pump out. TERRIBLE service from ALL of them, and they just don't care. Send school kids out to pump the tanks, charge you extra to locate the access hole, have no tools to do anything except a pen to write the bill. You would make a killing here when the word got out that there was an honest courteous decent knowledgeable septic service that cared about the customer !!!!!! The other companies would go bankrupt as no one would ever call them again after a visit from you !!!!!!! Love your videos and learning a lot. Thank you !!!!!!!

One thing I notice, is my tank you can’t see the inlet or the outlet. It’s been in the ground since 1972. The field was redone in 96 or 98. Still pumping it out ever 3 to 5.

I am sixty one and that hole would put me on pain medication for a week LOL! I worked the back of a commercial garbage truck from age 11 to 17 because we were forced to by our parents and were allowed to quite school at 17 and told that us five boys would inherit the business one day! They sold it and retired a few years later!

Yeee the stinger is back all the videos telling u it's easier to pump with it imagine u find a septic tank that's got over a hundred years of poo 💩 wonder how hard it would be to pump that u could actually stand on it maybe 🤔 anyways u do awesome jobs pumping tanks and talking to the homeowner it shows u are very positive and friendly ❤️

I notice in your videos that the pipe leaving the house (the inlet?) always ends in a T-connector that's open both top and bottom. In my septic the inlet just terminates horizontally. Is there a reason for the T?

Why don't they make septic tanks above ground? Atleast the tank portion. It just seems so dumb and dangerous to have random tanks hidden underground that someone falls into or drives into when it callaspses.
@alexmatthews2332
@alexmatthews2332 Год назад
Mine is basically flush with the ground. I think it's because they used to have fields buried pretty deep. The top of my field is elevated about 3 feet so it's like the pipes are level with the ground along with the top of the tank.

Once the septic gets pumped, they have to take it to somewhere to dispose of it so that costs them money too. I had mine pumped out yesterday, the company was going to charge me $200 to dig a 12 inche deep hole to the lid. I did it myself, saving money. I think I will install a riser this year so I don't have to dig every 2-3 years.

Why don't people put risers on these so they don't have to be dug up every time. There's a lot of time lost finding and digging them up. I looked at house in a area that had septic tanks and they were clearly marked in the yard with a round metal grate and a round metal lid clearly in the yard
