Close Encounters at Matusadona

How exciting

Lol that was some road 🤣 In 1992 I spent almost a year backpacking around Zim I loved it some really wild areas Mana Pools was my fav spot and the Elephants you saw in your beautiful camp reminded me of it as there they walked through too as well as hippo lion and hyena. I was out walking when a mum and her tiny calf approached me at speed (elephants can walk very fast 😁) heading to the river I was upwind and literally jumped into a thorn bush they passed a couple of feet from me,a huge female elephant and her tiny baby one of the best experiences I ever had ! Kariba is a magic place too would love to go back to Zim one day 👍 The guy you filmed was certainly a handsome chap with great tusks. I love elephants intelligent social family orientated animals they are my favourites 😁

We went to Tashinga camp in our Landy Defender towing a Trailer in Aug 1999 for the first time >> the road is much better these days .. We love Matusadonna and Chizzarira >> The Binga Karoi Road from Binga is also much easier these days
