For once I also want to give some credit to a CV for not being brain dead. Your CV, after he lost his ship did not sacrifice his last flight of planes on a pointless attack run, instead he kept spawning fighters in the path to your ship to give you as much cover as he could while also keeping the enemy CV spotted.
Nah it was always gonna be a niche game. It’s too slow paced to be super popular, look at all the top selling multiplayer games, COD, FIFA, NBA2k. All fast paced games.
@@Rebrand_Steve As I said in a comment below to Robert, the game needs innovation, not "new" ships to sell to the community. Going to Tier XI isn't the solution. The solution is to iterate on the GAMEPLAY. Perhaps incorporate a mini-game into the game with regards to harvesting a resource for your team which can be used to fix your ships, or help secure a base of operations, or something. I'm not going to describe too much of these ideas, because I will be designing my own competitor to this game, since they are just milking us for all we're worth every patch and "new" ship/dockyard/battlepass. Stop funding an uninspiring game. Put your opinion out there so that they INNOVATE THE GAMEPLAY! We need more than just slowing/accelerating and TURNING IN or OUT, as meaningful game mechanic strategies. Casual players want to have a fun experience, and most of the players aren't having much fun at all with the blowouts that are so common for 1 team. My free ideas for innovating gameplay: 1.) Let every DD choose between 8km/12km/20km torps INGAME. And out of the game prior to launch, allow them to be modifiable parameters on those torp choices. 2.) Allow modification of armor plating that effects the physics of your ship characteristics, such as being able to strengthen the bow of your ship for better bow-in-deflections, but at a cost of perhaps slight maneuverability, as 1 example. 3.) Allow greater adjustment of ship agility beyond simply Signals. And make those changes more clearly defined so we know what we're getting and can see it in a test environment in port. 4.) Let the Port be a mini-open world, where you can drive around your ship to test out changes you've made to the parameters and the equipment and other modifications. 5.) Allow the ability for your port to invite friends (or enemies!) to come to your port and sail around together in this mini-sandbox port-world. Why this isn't in the game already is perplexing to me. It is called WORLD of warships after all, but there literally is no world or community to speak of except via chat channels or ingame instances. 6.) MAKE AA WORK PROPERLY. On MAX AA VERMONT I haven't been able to stop a full drop of planes since December 2022 last year. 7.) LET US TOGGLE THE ABILITY TO SHOOT OVER ISLANDS AT UNSEEN TARGETS, so long as it's possible to shoot that area in the first place. So frustrating not being able to shoot over an island just because the ship is no longer visible, despite being able to do it if it was detected. Simply give us a bindable hotkey that allows us to shoot our guns whereever they are capable of hitting over islands. 8.) LET US OPT INTO HIGHER QUEUE TIMES in order to get a match of EQUAL TIERS, or within ONE TIER. 9.) INNOVATE GAMEPLAY with a new ship class "Engineer", a kind of mini-ship of destroyer-sized class, that can do some sort of base-building/defense building, or resource gathering. 10.) Make DESTROYED SHIPS a resource worth gathering, reclaiming, and securing for your team, or even a means of setting a blockade for a zone for obstruction of torps or ship-travel, etc. (RTS game from 1997 called Total Annihilation has reclamation, look at the ability extract value from wrecks. They should be a meaningful part of the game, and not simply a disappearing element.) I can't believe I'm giving away all these awesome ideas, that I may introduce into my own game at some point later, but I do like Warships, and I would like to see it innovated upon. It has good bones, and just needs to be refined and willing to take some risks, even if it is tested out in different game-modes prior to full implementation. We just wanna have a fun game that is reliably fun on a regular basis. Adding Tier XI isn't the only direction you should be taking. You guys are talented and capable of these things, try it out. Hire me as a temporary consultant, and I'd be happy to use my game knowledge and philosophy (i've attained as a gamer for the last 20 years of my life) to make your game better and more fun for everyone. @PotatoQuality
It's just so frustrating. I took the Incomparable and all those shooting bugs coupled with the insane dispersion I'm experiencing in recent weeks just kills the joy. I get myself in fairly good positions, I use the low concealment to the best of my abilities, my angling is good, but I just can't do any damage. So many times I am the last person alive, with approximately +100k damage and a ton of overpens and shatters. It's so frustrating. If these shots were going where I was aiming - 50% of those losses had the potential to be entertaining games, even wins.
That broadside Colbert reminded me of a game i had today with Montana. Flat broadside Yoshino at 6km. 6 overpens and 1 full pen without citadels. Wanted to punch through my screen but took a break immediately after that.
Funny enough i recently GOT that ship. ITS CITADEL HUGE! DIS BOAT BE MADE OF CITADEL lvls of CITADEL. Unless all your shells went though the BOW/STERN and one went though the upper deck.....i dont know what to tell you their mate.
@@jaywerner8415 I played a lot with and against Yoshinos and i know this thing takes a ton of dmg from any angle. And with the slower Montana i was totally expecting a devstrike aiming at the waterline below the smokestack. With any light cruiser i would've expected overpens, but because it was a Yoshino i was disappointed.
@@volknetai.3690 Cool idea. Very worthwhile mention. Keep your ideas flowing. The game devs truly need inspiration. It's just our prayer and hope that they're watching, reading, and incorporating our feedback into their work.
@@jaywerner8415 The true ship that is a walking citadel is SALEM and Desmoines class cruisers. I don't even bother turning out with those, i stay bow-in and next to islands going forward and back, and I have much better success than any open-water shooting. It's truly a travesty not being able to play that ship any other way.
"Word of Warships" I know people sometimes call some games Excel but Word... Well this kinda makes sense. After another death by sub you have a lot to express through words so open Word and let it all out.
Having a good game with a CV is rare. I generally play IJN Battleships so I can be having a great match up until the CV decides to farm me. Then its over in 2-4 strikes.
Imo these buffs to the vermont dont make much sense (I dont have vermont in the game). Instead buffing speed, they decreased concealment and gave it a buff to acceleration... Imo they buffed wrong things and now we have this weird ship.
@@NoName-wi8xz I think they did a good job on this ship, it’s so huge making it fast would’ve been silly. Vermont is WAY more balanced than a lot of other ships
Love close games but they seem to be more rare these days I remember they occured a lot in the past where it would go down to the wire. Most of my games recently are very one sided where I notice the entire other flank has died and now the enemy are coming to clean us up or all the enemies are dying too fast and I need to charge in to try get some damage and xp before the game ends too fast. Neither are fun
if the other flank is being overrun, it likely means your flank has the numbers to aggressively push the enemy on your flank, but to many players sit back and want damage without any risk. next thing you know you are flanked and now outnumbered with no place to hide. another thing you can do if the other flank is being overrun is to try and see it then adjust back to help them before they all die, but once again to many players with the blame game on the other side and never my fault attitude.
WG wants high churn...they don't care about game quality. The more new uninformed players? The more marks for their deliberately misleading marketing strategies.
If you play them (the DD), it becomes quite easy to predict their acceleration, even if that means having to zoom out of the aiming screen a tick or two
@@Just_som_Ottur at 14+ km no amount of experience will help you hit a Marceau or Kleber if they are aware of your incoming shells. that guy was just an idiot who probaby is new to the ship
@travisstorm1638 you can't. At 14 km they have the ability to see your shells and adjust, especially with engine boost. The only exception to this is Russian cruisers and maybe slava
Blow out, Blow out, Blow out, Throw, Blow out, kinda close, Blow out, Blow out...I would have to keep going a while before I got to the first good game let alone great game. I know, antidotal...whatever.
I'm sorry, but a great game is a game where you have more joy than frustration. Like good games are 10% of your playtime. That sucks and is not a great game.
Yeah a great game with corrupted leadership. I took slot one 100% AA mount protection and yet more often than not I lose AA mounts and in a double CV game I lost 5 AA mounts and yes in having the slot one 100% AA mount protection. This game is rigged via RNG. Every match has a predetermined loser. Sometimes you override the magical rig spell and win (or lose lol) anyway but "the game is rigged". Curious that in single CV games I still lose 1 or 2 AA mounts BUT in Double CV games I lose 5 (or so) AA mounts "while I'm 100% AA mount protected". Explain that without a "rigging" cheat involved! I still love the game but anyone that spends money on an obviously rigged game is an absolute fool.
FYI, the 100% is the amount the hp of your AA mount is buffed. It does not mean that the AA gun mount is invulnerable. It just means it takes twice as much damage to destroy. Most of the mounts don't have high HP to begin with...so doubling it may not have any real effect if it gets hit with a >400mm HE shell...
@Robert Shaver -- I feel you on this one sir. We just have no idea how inconsistent this game is, it's truly pitiful. If they don't fix the inconsistencies in this game, (aa failing to do any real work 90% of the time, shots falling short, inability to shoot over islands without autoaim, etc) and fail to innovate on the game model and balance, instead of simply making more ships to sell, the game is going to have new games pop-up into the competitive space and take all the playerbase by a much higher quality and respectable game. (I'm going to develop a competitor once I have the funding and team assembled. it'll be far better by a longshot, I guarantee it.)
Thanks for pointing that out @dclark142002 I also thought that 100% survivability meant that they can't be broken, as well. This kind of failure to explain the details of what you're modifying about your ships is frustrating. It's not plain language, and there's no way to measure what you're changing about your ship with the mods. Frankly I can't stand language that's ambiguous and leaves you wondering about what the truth is.
Your record of high level game mastery is without question. But your commentary style has a painful habit of being complementary in one statement and taking it back two minutes later. It is inconsistent and jars the comentary. "Is he complementing the mechanic? Is he dissing it? Is he being facetious? Is this what passive-agressive looks like?" 40,000 subscribers can't be wrong. You are good. Very good. Sorry, man. I love ya, but ya gotta find your commentary balance. "It's good... but..."
@@dclark142002, I'm reasonably certain that he's not bowing to WeeGee for their trinkets and bobbles. I'm referring specifically to his narration/commentary style. I'm not at all referring to the content. You need to read between the lines...

@@Riaining7, in no way have I disparaged his mastery of the game. I am a scrub 49%er. I am no armchair commander since I'm not telling him how to play. Furthermore, PQ's authenticity has never been in question. I follow maybe 5 WoWs RU-vidrs, and PQ is among them. The others being, Jingles, Trenlass, and Raging Canadian, and Maltese Knight. Oh, and The Sailing Robin for obvious reasons. All of them have unique offerings and styles. I have issue with PQ's commentary style. It is as I said, painful. I reccommend he study his style and modify it. Nothing else. In a free market he can take it. This channel is his creative work. And it's pretty damned good. But he opens his platform for comments. And I comment. He's a grown man. I'm sure he can handle my criticism of his narrative style. And that's just my two cents' worth.
If you care about your average experience in the game, WoWS has clearly deteriorated. If you are a gacha addict and keep "rolling the random battles button" for these great games, then WoWS is still a good game.
Well, he is a CC...they get compensated for their work with in game items. IMO, it's not worth the integrity loss...but value is an individually contextual thing.
