I remember this commercial around 2006 /2007 when I had cable TV. I saw this on NY1. The uneasy repetition of DOOR/THE DOOR/CLOSE THE DOOR drives home the importance of doing that when a fire breaks out. A man's voice narrates about three home fire incidents which could have prevented the tragedies that resulted from not closing the door. I never forgot it, and I am glad it's here on You Tube. Please bring this psa commercial back on all broadcast channels. Especially following the tragedy in the Bronx apartment yesterday morning. My heart and condolences go out to the families and victims. 😪😪 P.S. I forgot to mention many thanks, FDNY, for making this psa!
Never forgot it either, and it has come to mind in all of these incidents over the years. They never should have taken it off. Now, they're just making a bunch of new ones.
No it's liberal bullshit. And quite frankly public good nonsense designed by liberals to hear their arrogant "bro"-hating "Friends"-watching The WB-loving CBS-loving "Seinfeld"-hating liberal asses speak. Anyone with common sense knows to close the door. This is a BS PSA. But it was on a beastin' black news network, that was from the parent of UPN, Warner Bros.. So I can tolerate it lol. It comes off more funny than arrogant in retrospect. So the guy I can tolerate him. He doesn't seem that "Friends"-loving compared to the liberals you see on ABC, CNN, etc..
@@alxandra3958 Well, what do you expect? It's supposed to sound like that. If you don't close the door before you go to bed, let this run through your mind. Remember this Fire Safety Rhyme, "Close before you doze".
If only this ad was played more often these days - 12 people died in a Bronx NY fire this week because a resident left her apartment door open as she rushed out.
This Public Service was produced by Tony Schwartz in the early 80's. Tony is also famous for the daisy commercial which Lyndon Johnson ran to win the presidency.
