From 1999 until 2016 Volcan Tungurahua in Ecuador erupted two or more times a year and each eruption lasted for several days or weeks. Ash fall was the main hazard affecting people living on the slopes of the volcano. In response to this, farmers who's livelihoods depended on the land found ways to respond to the ash and protect their crops and animals. This short film tells what they did and how they managed to adapt and live next to an active volcano for so many years. Their knowledge and experience could be useful elsewhere in the world where similar events are taking place or might in the future.
