I love the doors. Not only do they look great, but you’d spend a fortune today on anything with the same quality of craftmanship and materials that were standard in the 50s.

Looks so nice! Those doors are wonderful for closet’s because of the ventilation.

Those closet doors are not at all from the 50’s. They are from the 90’s

Heck yeah keeping the doors 💯 better than the cheap hollow cores that fall apart in 5yr. They sell the old hardware reasonably priced .

I love louver doors they let your closet breathe, and sometimes it needs to breathe.

Did you entertain the idea of tearing out the wall between them? We ditched the closet doors awhile ago and want to merge the two, but… so much cleanup!

It looks nice. Definitely updated. I actually kinda like the stained baseboards with the white walls.

I would have remove the wall between the two closets andmake one large closet.

Love the doors…I’ve put louvered closet doors I just about every house I’ve lived in. They’re good for ventilation. You did a really nice job…everything looks great

Love the doors. I'm surprised you didn't have them attached differently. I would've had them open towards the outside vs opening towards the inner wall.

I was so happy to see you kept the wood trim and didn't paint it white! I love wood trim, and I'm always so sad when people white wash all those details.

doors were not bad enough to scrap - surprised you didn't paint them with 'plain jane' white too.

San Jose ca. bunch of homes built that way I had to remove the wall between the closets to make one big closet. imagine 2 6-foot wide closets with a 24-inch door you end up with a foot of dead space on each closet end that's hard to do anything with, WHY!

Nice, but you could have maximized the space by moving the shelf up and adding double hanging.

If bifold doors block too much of the opening when folded back, they can be taken apart, and a second set of hardware installed on the opposite side to create two French doors.

Doors are in ridiculously good shape, good call keeping them!

The baseboards kinda clash with the flooring, like not close enough to match, not different enough tp contrast.

I think the center wall should have been removed to make the closet easier to access.

Question ❓❓❓ If you were going to go through so much trouble to fix up that room, why didn't you stain the different woods to match? The shelf, baseboard, doors and floor are all different colors. I mean it looks okay, but matching everything would have been so much better. Or at least making the shelf, baseboard and doors over in a color that compliments the floor. Just my opinion.

I would have kept the doors too, but painted them since the wood color doesn't match the wood color of the floor. If they were my doors, I would paint them black.

I would just get rid of old doors and install the barn door with slides which it’s in style now.

We’re both closets for you? One could have two hanging rods, one for pants, one for shirts. The other closet for dresses and bathrobes. Even if both closets are for you.
